Mark, we love you, but I wish you hadn t focussed on Melbourne s over branded hipster places. There are lots of incredible suburbs with cheap and cheerful eateries. The A1 Bakery in Brunswick for Lebanese pies - Afghan Master Kebab in Sunshine - Pellegrini s in the CBD to tell the story of the Italian influence on our food culture. And a fish n chip shop that still cuts its own chips and offers up curious staples like battered saveloys, pineapple fritters, and chicko rolls. Old school places that are dying out. And we re still to see an HSP (Halal Snack Pack) but you might be waiting for a trip to Sydney for that. Thanks for coming to Australia and I hope to see more authentic food places in the mix!

You went to one of the most multicultural country/city and tried all English food.
This is not what everyday aussies eat, this is just fancy places in Melbourne
You need to go to a pub, 15 Parma, fish and chips in outer suburbs, all sort of beers, pies from family owned in industrial parts, where tradies go.
The list goes on, this is not even a kebab! Best one near qv, and smith st.

Mark i'm having a hard time watching you eat Australian food. You destroy it which is ruining the eating experience. Watch people around you to grasp the concept. The meat pie eating made national news, you basically shoved it into your face and kept pushing. Australians are having a hard time watching this hahaha love your work just needs some fine tuning.

Nice video Mark! Quick question, do you have any plan to go to France soon? It seems crazy to me that you've never done a series there, knowing that it is one of the greatest food destination in the World! I know you lived there for a while growing up, did you have a bad experience there?

Despite all the premium ingredients and high class infrastructure- the fact that this country and its food is so devoid of any kind of culture or pedigree is so obvious.
My neighbourhood street cart seller has food with more flavour than this city which is one of the best to live in the world.
Money can t buy you culture and heritage.

I live in Melbourne and you have hit up some great Melbourne spots. Though i know your style, and i hope you managed to get to outback Australia, hang out with some of the Aboriginal people and experience some bush tucker. Outback plants & veggies, kangaroo cooked over an open fire, damper, bush stews and some witchery grubs.

Thanks for doin Melbourne. even tho i live in Melborne. but really the best seafood is caught. of the South Australian coast Coffin Bay BEST oysters around. you really need to eat your way around the whole of Australia not just Melbourne as its not the only place in Australia. Fresh seafood South Australian style. ohhhh yeah

Mark - It is morning here and I want to taste that beef sandwich so juicy looking! Wow! that fish and chips, I am tasting it here right now. I love the looks of the sardine sandwich. Pizza oh my goodness! Yummy, yummy. send me some now! That Lobster and rice looking outrageously delicious! Mouthwatering Kebabs! Excellent video

the biggest takeaway im getting from this series is that australia just cooks food from all over the world and puts their own spin on it, but it all seems like its a worse tasting version of the authentic version elsewhere in the world. i cringed hard at that lobster roll

Watching Mark eat toasties and chips with chicken salt is somehow both really lovely and also very mildly embarrassing. Aussie cuisine is so mixed up and weird - can't fault the quality of ingredients though. We do seem to have some really good produce!

1 of the best sandwiches I ever had was at Sherman's deli in palm springs, ca. Most things there are great. Should try if in so cal. It's a staple of that area. Edited to say those sandwiches looked amazing and reminded of Sherman's deli

Hopefully you make some time to get some bush trekking in. There are a number of local Australian ingredients that you don t see commonly used in modern cuisine that you are trying.
