For London beekeepers Chris Barnes and Paul Webb, honey is money-literally. The pair install and manage beehives in postcodes across the city, providing top-notch raw, ultra-local honey to the people. MUNCHIES follows the pair as they set up and expand their urban beekeeping business; just follow the buzz. -Urban beekeeping-? People need to really think about this. Bees need an almost unfathomable amount of forage to create a surplus of honey. IMO an urban environment can produce honey but it would really depend on the amount of dumpsters that the bees can forage in. I would NEVER buy honey from an urban beekeeper. It sounds all warm and fuzzy but I feel this isn't honey from flowers.

This was cool. My question would be are those manufactured hives heavy enough to not get knocked over by wind/rain/snow? they should tether them to the foundation somehow, or maybe they are weighted. all I know is that if a strong wind knocks that down onto the people in the garden that would be one bad day ha ha

Do urban hives still support themselves well, given that there is so much concrete jungle and humans around? How does it turn out, since its a different 'ecosystem' than a rural area? Or would it only work in eco-friendly cities? --And do people make you pay rent for putting the hives on their roofs?

Encouraging to see, considering how many beekeepers are closing down business after bees started disappearing worldwide. -Anyone know how raw, hard, waxlike honey is produced? The raw honey here seems really clear and liquid.

Isn't this thing dangerous? All the beekeeping manuals said that it had to be away from homes and animals. Do they get some trouble with the safetey regulations and that stuff?
