Jennipher Marshall-Jenkinson is a self-proclaimed microwave evangelist. She believes we-re all stuck in the Stone Age, cooking like cavemen over an open flame. It's time to get with the 21st century and heat up your food in a magic electric box, people. In this episode of How-To, Jennipher teaches us how to make a salmon roulade using only a microwave

Microwaves work by using energy waves to boil water molecules, which is what heats up food. This only occurs at the antipoles of these energy waves, so it is always cooking food unevenly (that is why microwaves are designed to rotate your food. It would be much easier to make this souffle bake thoroughly in a traditional oven since it would cook evenly. It would probably also take just as much time, and possibly be more energy efficient. That's not to say that microwaves are useless, but they heat food a very specific way, so the idea that we should only cook with them because they are more -technologically advanced- is a poor. It would be like only cooking things using the sous-vide method from here on out.

wow -these tards refuting -AureaPersona 's sourced data from scientific journals. ---yeah well i can write anything and call it self-published so what---there was a well known study how people's opinions change after being shown evidence refuting it. result: it's the opposite. mostly people just latch more onto their previous beliefs despite contrary evidence. --i promise you: give these raw food quacks a scientific, peer-reviewed article supporting their opinion and they'll be all for the whole scientific process. what a bunch of lambs.

She said she loves good food, yet cooks in a microwave. thats just LAZY! You are lazy lady, nothing modern about this! Microwaves are a thing of the past, no one uses one, besides to make popcorn. and if you do. stop! Let's not forget also the negatives, the waves it emits change the DNA of the food. which you eat. guess what happens with your own DNA? Yep. Terrible lazy old lady, I am not shocked she is english, makes sense. The worst thing is she ruined her kids too xD

Her caveman comment is either because she is joking or ignorant. You can't cook anything in a microwave oven. And no, you she is not the first nor the best to have ever exploited the microwave for cooking. I find it kinda sad that she has used so many years discovering the wonders of the microwaveoven, yet she still hasn't discovered salt(or other seasoning. I don't dislike people promoting microwave use, but she does it in a very tasteless way. Her recipe also sucks.

Hmmm what an interesting perspective in cooking! In the same way that much of the popular music today is made through computer software, which arguably -deprives- the music of its soul when compared to music that was made 20+ years ago, cooking with a microwave -deprives- the dish of its essence as well. I guess it's because the heart and soul that a human being puts into the dish (or the track) is taken away by the -apathy- of the machine. To each his own!

Dear Mrs. Jenkinson, --It is is of my greatest concern that you do not only microwave asscheek dishes, but also stray kittens. Your skin looks as if you peeled a old piece gum from the underside of a desk and wore out in the sun for a millenium. Your breath probably reaks and your teeth. oh boy don't get me started. Please remove yourself from the gene pool. Thanks--Best wishes, -Sean

My uncle loved to use the microwave as well. I always thought it was bizarre and scary thinking about all that radiation. He used to cook entire thanksgiving dinner in the microwave including the turkey for about 12 hours on high with the bird wedged in the microwave from wall to wall. Sadly he passed due to cancer.

She's still stuck in the 20th century if you ask me. 70's style of cooking, just nuke everything. Disgusting! Microwaves should be used to melt butter, quick steam veggies, and reheat leftovers. Not as a primary source of cooking.

Cooking in microwave can actually make stuff more efficient however the quality is crap so its basically on you if you want good food like -cavemen- but if you want shit like this then go use a microwave

Lady, your kids are going to talk about you in therapy for years to come. I hope they have learned how to really cook. Also, I highly doubt cavemen had pots and pans, you never see images of them in cave drawings!
