As a Japanese person I have no problems with this 'Mexican Sushi'. Its wacky and different to our traditional sushi but thats fine by me because no one in Japan or anywhere else in the world is going to mistake this for a 'traditional Japanese sushi' (or I genuinely hope thats the case. ---Personally it triggers me when a chef that isn't properly trained as a sushi chef produces a substandard, low quality, awfully disgusting sushi and calls it a 'traditional sushi' or when the chefs lacking in real skill and try to do something fancy and eye-catching and call it their 'original sushi' in a traditional sushi establishment. Why do I get triggered? Because people who haven't tried real sushi would think that the substandard sushi they are eating are the norm. Whether they like it or not is beside the point, its just the matter of Japanese pride and love towards our food and culture. There are too many establishment run by operators trying to make a quick buck jumping on the Japanese food bandwagon these days or so it seems.

Although this sushi isn't -traditional- (no shit) I find it nice to see that people are making their own renditions, expanding the culture of sushi itself, and enjoying these meals. I don't see any point to hate on the fact that this isn't what you're used to since nobody is forcing you to watch this informative video about a NEW food scene or even DIGEST this food. Times change for the better or worst, depending on you of course. However, using the excuse of -Mexicans say taco bell tacos aren't real tacos'' is not only racist but profoundly ignorant because one person's fallacy doesn't justify you getting to say the exact same thing vice versa about sushi, especially if you know it's incorrect to do so.

For some people, it takes more than just using the same fish and rice as the Japanese to make sushi but, skill that only comes from the back breaking humble labor of apprenticing for 10+ years under a strict master. I'm sure if these guys trained as such in Japan (whether or not they did, the video doesn't tell us, then they wouldn't get as much crap and their form of sushi would be more accepted. --That being said the dishes here looks delicious. I prefer nigiri myself, but this looks like a chill place to kick back with a couple friends and a couple beers.

Honestly, this Mexican sushi is just about as authentic as most sushi that Americans eat. Things like a California roll, or a spicy tuna roll are just as bad as these. American rolls usually have loads of different colourful and sweet sauces, but in Japan, the only sauces used are usually soy based. Also the ingredients are sometimes different. No one uses avocado or tempura inside of sushi in Japan. --There really isn't any reason to get upset about this video and complain about authenticity when you think a spicy tuna roll as authentic.

Haters, stuff it and get lost. Mexican sushi (specifically Sinaloan sushi) is one of the best damned food inventions in the last twenty years. It is very uniquely Sinaloan and it's taking Japan by storm and soon here in America. If I had money, I would invest in this next big food wave. Sinaloan chefs have been toying with this for a few decades due to their superior food and quality of food. I think it started with a couple of Sinaloan chefs who went to sushi school in Japan, came home, and viola!

Did you all know that -sushi- refers to the rice that is used? Sushi is NOT the raw fish. If you use sushi rice, you can garnish it with whatever you want and it is still considered sushi. He is just putting his own spin on it and not trying to pass it as Japanese Sushi. Sushi - dish consisting of vinegar flavored cold cooked rice garnished with fish, vegetables, egg, other ingredients, fruit. anyways, who really cares? If it tastes good, it eat!

What a joke. Their -Sushi- is a ripoff of cheap Sushi places like Marinepolis Sushi Land that have been operating conveyer belt Sushi restaurants in the Pacific NorthWest for much longer. Also NO ONE in Japan would even consider deep frying rolls, or using cream cheese. That's all American inspired, and has nothing to do with being Mexican. Just call it -Sushi-, and don't embarrass yourself any further by claiming it as your own.

I'm Mexican and I love sushi. A lot. I'm not digging the rolls simply because of the prices. You are being charged the same price for a prepared roll that has cheaper ingredients. They're just glorified California rolls with Latin additions. I'm glad the business is making it and people are trying rolls. It just seems too expensive for me. I'd rather have sushimi for the prices. I also don't live too far away from this place.
