The carp aren't the only fish out of water. God I hate Vice hosts. It's like they can't interact with blue collar folks whatsoever, which is probably because they've never done a day of labor in their lives. Sometimes I think they behave like entitled asshats on purpose. This might be the worst Munchies episode for exposing the hipster shittiness of their staff. Normally I can tolerate it as an underlying thread of mild annoyance with interesting bits that are worth hanging around for, but man. this one is hard to watch without strong feelings of disgust and pity.

Lady, I am in love. you seem so fun and full of life! best of luck and life to you I'm happy to see you try carp again even when it is not something you normally enjoy. I am from Alaska and I have met so many who do not enjoy salmon, or fish. until prepared correctly. Maybe someone who specializes in carp may prepare it correctly and deliciously for you? Carps have inspired art, music, sculpture, rituals, epics to religious degrees. I feel sad and offended to see this fish, which is so dear to so many people, being hated and disgusted: (

damn they all eat nearly same food like Russian people, the people look same like Russian, dress & even many of the words are same like Russian. I can imagine how & why german/prussian empire & Russian empire had Europe split, half belonged to Russia all the way up to Czech republic

So they hate carp. yet must eat it? I mean if you hate something, who cares if it is a tradition. eat something else. --That said carp really isn't that bad if you know how to prepare it. Sure there are better fish, but it isn't like it is terrible.

Best Christmas meal is carp soup and its literally made from the carps head because you dont want to throw that away, and if the carp is a female you may end up with some carp caviar And we put that into that soup aswell. So nice rich flavour

To Munchies: can you please get a better and more 'adult' host because this host is always about getting high and drunk. i don't even think that Hannah is qualified to being a host because she is not entertaining or even giving us any guide

Well, if you prepare a carp that came fresh out of such a pond, it of course tastes awful, like mud. But as far as I know the carps are transfered into some clear water basins, for a couple of weeks, to get out the muddy taste.
