The Sandwich Show: Max's Fish Sarnie

As a lover of the sandwich and curious chef, London sandwich shop owner Max Halley is travelling the UK to find inspiration for a new sandwich to put on his menu. This episode of The Sandwich Show takes him to the Northumberland coast, where he forages for seaweed, cooks monkfish kebabs in a seaside shack, and learns how to smoke a kipper. It doesn't take much to make a sandwich-all it really comes down to is putting stuff between two slices of bread. But as Max knows, in the right hands, the humble sarnie can become a flavour-packed meal in its own right

With apologies I've only just discovered this guy Max. The NE of England holds many happy memories, though my kippers of choice are Robsons from Craster. I think Max's enthusiasm could become a little tiresome, nonetheless he clearly cares about the sandwiches. However I loathe and abominate the continual use of foul language, it's perfectly possible to express oneself in the most forceful terms without resorting to what is best described as 'industrial language'. A little 'self-censorship wouldn't go amiss.

Wish you actually planned out the sandwich in your mind beforehand, looked like a mess. I hate lamb and its musky smell so I may be biased, but that sandwich bread looks delicious. I wonder what a smoked kipper roll would taste like dill mayo and some chopped kipper chunks in a toasted buttered roll dressed like a lobster roll

Max is honestly an incredible host and a very unique individual. Please give him some more air time! With all the lifeless people we have on YouTube it's extremely refreshing to see someone so happy, so engaged with the life they lead that I as a viewer am buoyed up and start riding on the energy.

munchies im bummed you ended this, this is genuinely one of the best productions from you guys ever. You took a basic, and on the surface boring topic, and produced something that is an absolute joy to watch. Maybe its because im drinking while watching, but really good production.

I love that people hang up when he says Wagwan over the phone! It's brilliant because it would make me even more likely to visit (if I lived closer, and also is exactly how I'd answer the phone if I ran a business!

I know I'm going to sound like a dumb American here ( so I'm sorry if I offend anybody), but ( to my ears) Patrick sounds just like Lemmy from Motorhead. What part of England is that accent from?

Lamb and smoked fish sandwich sounds like shit, this guy is an idiot. If you need some over complicated gimmick to sell your food it-s probably shit and you-re a god damn disgrace to cooks everywhere.

beautiful piece of smoked fish: lets get the skin off and put it in the blender. Some nice beer to braise the lamb with: lets boil it down to a bitter goo apart from the lamb. Strange man.

Love, love this show. You guys are doing amazing. Pay close attention to a phrase he says at 4: 15, thats something I've been hearing since my dad put me in the kitchen at 9 years old.

This guy is easily the most entertaining chef I-ve seen on YouTube, he doesn-t sniff his own farts by the looks of it. He-s humble and funny wish I lived in lindon
