We've created a vegan shepherd's pie that honestly might be better than the real thing. We realize that's a bold statement, but it's true. MUNCHIES culinary director Farideh Sadeghin teaches us how to make the classic meat and potato dish vegan

I like the potato starch idea. I make shepherdess pie with different types of mushrooms and with a grain (usually barley) for texture instead of the faux meat. But the veggies and mushrooms tend to release a lot of water, which leaves a puddle at the bottom of the dish. I think the starch would really solve my problem.

Faux meat. I thought that was Spam. no wait, I like Spam in a can. Sorry, fail on this. Just use a shit load of mushrooms/vegs and forget the faux meat. And PS: ) I like some sharp cheddar grated into my mashed potatoes. YEA BABY. Maybe I go Vegetarian on occasion but nope, nada, can't do a true Vegan.

i actually made this recipe and followed it per suggested measures and it actually turned out super flavorful without any extra seasoning! don-t play yourself --but i did add a layer of shredded cheese between the taters and substitute meat. don-t judge me

Genuine question. If making shepherds pie and then using a meat substitute that both looks and assuming tastes like meat as well as the milk & butter to make said shepherds pie, what's the point of going to that much trouble? Looks delicious either way.

Watching this while I eat my shepherds pie right now. I used beef and while it probably is called cottage pie elsewhere I grew up in Australia knowing it as Shepherds pie! Hey I got a joke, how do you know someone is vegan? They tell you hahah.

There is no such thing as a vegan shepherds pie. Shepherds pie gets its name from the type of meat in it. -Shepherds pie- has lamb or sheep. -Cottage pie- has beef. Ducking hell munchies. Teach your people how to appropriately label food

what's the point of veganism? if people would go vegan millions of people will lose there jobs, doctors, drug companies, hospitals, slaughter houses, and more, so in a way, veganism hurt corporate employees. --prove me wrong vegans.
