Mason Hereford of Turkey and the Wolf and Molly-s Rise and Shine in New Orleans makes chicken fried steak sandwiches in the MUNCHIES Test Kitchen. Thick-cut buttery bread is filled with homemade coleslaw using Mason-s favorite mayo, Duke-s, and crispy fried steak that-s topped with chicken seasoning for an extra flavor boost. Pepper jelly and pickles add a spicy, sweet, tangy kick to this comforting and filling sandwich

Don't pretend you invented adding powdered chicken bouillon to salt as a seasoning and/or condiment. The continent of Australia may have some opinions on that, and I have a bottle of genuine Australian Chicken Salt in my pantry here in RI. I bought it at the T. J. Maxx as is tradition for obscure and tasty ingredients (also my go-to for smoked paprika from Spain or Portugal in cool and colorful tins. Hint - when you do the baked cornstarch-covered potato wedges in the oven a'la America's Test Kitchen, you want Ozzie chicken salt on that action to seal the deal.

With the exception of the pickles this sandwich has everything I cant stand. Mayo sauce, mayo based cole slaw, pepper jelly, fried steak, the whole thing is just nothing I like. ---I want this sandwich so freaking bad. I might try to make it at home this weekend or something.

im on the 'heresy' side. chicken fried steak should be enjoyed guiltfully, quietly, with the careful usage of fork and knife. holding a chicken fried steak between two pieces of BREAD in my HANDS? i might as well be wiping my ass with gold leaf.

So wait a minute, this guy starts a business with lots of competition, gets free publicity in the LA Times for a specific menu item and then takes that item off the menu? Cool guy but that makes no sense to me

-When the article came out we thought 'We can't handle this' and took it off the menu on the same day. ---1000 IQ business decision. so many people would have got greedy and ended up burning themselves out.

Ha ha. Nobody knows the origin of this. Chicken fried steak is a breaded ground beef patty fried in chicken fat. Don't need NY strip, ribeye, etc. It's pure hillbilly genius.

So he admitted he that he took off his best selling thing on the menu because he was lazy. Yea this guy is definitely small brain and not business educated lmao what a boomer

Dude's entire restaurant is based around mayonnaise but he doesn't fry the bread with mayonnaise, which gets the best bread sear. I'm stunned he doesn't know this trick.
