We Took an Intern on Chef's Night Out for His 21st Birthday

Oscar has been a Munchies Test Kitchen intern for three months, which is also the length of time he-s lived in New York. And he just had his 21st birthday. To celebrate, the Munchies staff took Oscar out for a night he-ll never forget. They opened his eyes to the world of fine dining at Crown Shy, where Oscar eats his first oysters. They show him a secret speakeasy hidden in a hot dog shop in the East Village. And they bring him to a New York City staple of late night noodles and beef tripe. Best of all, the VICE staff threw him a party back at the office, and even Frank Pinello of The Pizza Show stopped by. Oscar is headed back to Wisconsin after this, but he-ll never be forgotten

Shit, I wanna be an intern at Vice. --And btw Vice: --Oscar is precisely the type of Christian your company seems to hate so much (doesn't curse, doesn't really drink, loves his family and has VALUES. Glad that you're at least open-minded enough to want to corrupt him. --Oscar, my brother, keep shinning for the Light of the World. You know who He is.

I usually like the more gritty food personalities like action Bronson, Eddie Huang, and Anthony bourdain (rip) but homeboy has good vibes even given how straight edge he is in a place like New York of all places, really good video

Eats hot dogs. Then eats cow intestines. Eating cow intestines alone is weird, but somehow eating hot dogs isn't. No one realizes seems to ask themselves what the hot dog casing is made out of.

I didn't have to read the info to know he's not from New York. Has midwest written all over him. He needs to go back to Iowa or wherever before New York takes his soul.

They're really pushing their product in this video. Old Blue Last is a Vice/Anheuser Product. Best Pizza is owned by Frank Pinello who also hosts Munchies Episodes.

I just want to point out how cute the intern is and his personality makes him that much more cuter. What his socials? I'm tryna see something real quick

First thing dude needs to do soon as his culinary school is done, is leave Vice and work at a real restaurant for Gordon Ramsey or something. Vice is trash.

I went out to dinner with my parents, went to order a beer and totally forgot my wallet because they were paying and couldn't get myself a drink: /

Good for Oscar. Imagine being this naive about the world and then having the balls to move to NYC to become a chef. Really courageous. Good luck!

Farideh seems like the girl who acts the same on and off camera. I legit want to work at Munchies if she gets to treat me out on my birthday.
