You know you love Farideh, now meet her dad: Farideh and her father Manouch make Persian steamed rice with tahdig, the crispy golden crust from the bottom of the pot. Farideh prepares the rice by soaking it and boiling it till semi-cooked, while Manouch chimes in with his tahdig tips and tricks. Together, they add the partially cooked rice into a pan lined with olive oil, butter, saffron, and turmeric. The result is perfectly fluffy rice with a crispy, savory crust. Manouch approves

I don't know why for some time I thought it would be great to see Farideh with her father doing a show. So I was just so happy and blown away to see this episode. What a wonderful and kind person. Hope to see more of the family and some family favorites cooks. To you and all your family, Peace be with you.

I'm Turkish and rice, or pilav is a main part of our diet. I love rice, always nice to see other middle eastern ways of cooking the rice. Also, hearing you call him baba (which means dad in Turkish as well) was so wholesome: )
