It's actually so funny, coming from a Middle-Eastern European country, that people in the west are grossed out using every part of a pig or a cow. I mean we used to cook 'cow belly' or one of my favorite foods ever is/was pork brains, with some garlic, egg and onion it's like an omelette re-imagined LOL! Also slow-cooked tongue, liver and kidney from pork is the best! Some even cook the lungs LOL!

THANK YOU, Sam (read as sarcasm) for telling the world about the egg salad sandwiches. I grew up in Japan (20 years in Tokyo) and travel to Japan quarterly for work -- and now, because of you. it is harder to find the egg salad sandwiches I love -- because all the gaijin tourists are eating them all up. So THANK YOU. (Again. Sarcasm) You know. it's OK NOT to tell people about some things.

Coming from a family that made it's own smoked country hams, bacon, sausage and the rest of the pig I'm a confirmed pork guy. With that said I know there's all kinds of yummy parts to a pig, why do they have to eat the most unappetizing parts? I may be starving enough some day to eat Uterus and Cartilage, but that day isn't today.

I just had Coco Ichibanya curry in LA for the first time since I left Japan 16 yrs ago. Man, I knew they had opened up some restaurants in LA years ago, but i don't know why I have not eaten there till this past weekend. Man it brought back so many memories. I will try to go at least once a month from now on.

I once walked back from a bar drunk as hell and went to Family Mart and got me an egg salad sandwich. I ate one of them in a cab on the way back to my barracks and when I woke up I had the other sandwich sitting on my desk in the wrapper. What a pleasant surprise. This was last weekend actually lmao

Really want to go to Tokyo at some point. Did you guys just hire a translator to make things easier for some of the stalls and for the show? I didnt have one when I went to eastern europe and I kinda thought that was half the fun, not knowing the language and trying to just figure things out.

Ok so the egg salad sandwich that we have here in Australia is egg, mayo, curry powder, iceberg lettuce salt and pepper. When I make it at home I now use kewpie mayo because of you. so good and dont be shy with the curry powder. Also add chopped parsley or even green onion yummmm.

Great video, and agree with almost everything here. One tip to add about the department stores, a lot of them also has roof top gardens where you can go and enjoy food and view of the Tokyo skylines. My favourite one is the Isten in Shinjuku.

NOTHING is better than CoCo Curry. We have a close second place in NYC (and one in LA, I believe) called Go! Go! Curry! It is quite delicious in its own right. but CoCo is the thing I miss about Japan the most. Chicken Katsu Curry is life.
