Seriously epic trash can tater tot nachos (aka totchos) I was thinking that if you had kept the #10 can lid, that after each layer of tots, you could give it a little push down to make it all stick together. How to get the lid in and out of the can: Drill a small hole in the center of the lid. Get a 2. 5 - 3 small bolt, 2 washers and a nut. Use the threaded end of the small bolt as your handle to pull it out. Nevertheless - Looks like a win on taste, (and calories - LOL.

VIDEO SUGGESTION! Look up and the pueblo slopper and give that a go. We have something similar to the hatch chili in it but we are famous for them here. It's a burger with green chili stew smothered on top. Perfect for this time of the year! The chile can go on burritos as well! If you need the recipie for the green chile I can send mine over. It's top notch!

I have to say the cheese in the can trick looks kind of gross. But being Danish growing up on biksemad which is basically leftover boiled meat and potatoes fried with onions and served with fried eggs (the only American thing it reminds me of is the garbage plate, I could see this being a true treat. I'm a sucker for nachos.

Sam, I highly recommend buying the solid plastic lids to fit your Ball jars when quick pickling. They're also great to have on-hand when dealing with opened traditionally canned product. A bent jar lid is never a problem when closing quick pickles or already opened traditionally canned good.

There's a resturant in East Los Angeles that serves the most amazing Garbge Burritos. If you finish 2, the 3rd one is free. As is an ambulance ride to the neighboring LA County Hospital. You finish one of these, the Medics are pulling up ready to take you in.

That tater tot mound reminded me of the scene in CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND where Richard Dreyfus' character is making the mound of mashed potatoes. Not quite identical, but still, it's a mound.
The tater tots look great. Thanks. Merry Christmas to all.

I'm sure this tastes awesome as hell and I very much so want some.
I could do without the big can shape, though. Seems silly and frivolous. Just give me a layered plate/bowl like normal.
Everything else besides the can, excellent.

Goddamn Sam, love ya man!
Love the show, but this is a NO!
P. S. As a Minnesota boy, I can say for sure that tater tot hot dish is a thing. It's a thing that needs to be scrubbed from the collective consciousness!

My colon lurched a full 8 to the left after watching this video. I think if you d compressed it a bit during the layering process it probably would have held together better when lifting the can off. I ll bet it was tasty though.

We make an Irish Tatchos each year on St Patrick s Day with some corned beef and sauerkraut along with usual nacho toppings. Not exactly traditional Irish food but always a huge hit with friends that join us to party Irish style.

For God's sake, ANOTHER recipe with cumin, undercooked, charred meat, and over-the-top onions and spices. Seriously considering unsubscribing because of the repetitive nature of what's being cooked in recent weeks/months.

As a Spaniard, I think that these TOTCHOS not only look delicious, but they have a genius name. In Spanish it reminds of the word TOCHO, which means a big chunk or weighty amount of something, originally a thick heavy book.

OMG l just got home from Cabo and a box was waiting for me that says. The. Best. Day. Ever! Oh boy, was it! I am waiting until Christmas to open it, l have no idea what my husband picked out for me but THANK YOU!

You cooking on the EVO really got me to buy a flat top for outside at home. I'd love to see some old school flat top recipes again. Love everything you guys do!

If you made the exact same dish but with french fries or scalloped potatoes, I bet you'd have the lateral strength for the shapes to link up and stay together.

Those look great, we sell them from our food truck, just had Guy s in Tennessee last weekend and was not impressed, although I am a big fan of you both

I like to leave the one side on the can, bake it for 10 minutes on a cookie sheet, flip it over on a plate and then the big reveal. . kids go crazy lol

You gotta smush everything down to push most of the air out. That will make the structure a lot stronger so it won't topple when you remove the can.

For those of you playing at home, Velveeta isn't cheese. It is a processed cheese food product. It is best consumed when one is drunk or stoned, I am told.

Love this whole process with the tater tots. Even the can made sense I think it dispersed all the ingredients. Can't wait to try this and taste it!
