How To Make STRONG Air Dry Paper Clay - No Cracking. Hi, a lot of you asked me about the clay I am using in my videos. Some of you had problems with your air dry clays because you had a natural ones that cracked when dried. Natural clays are not good for my kind of projects. If you cover a jar using natural clay it shrinks, resulting in a lot of cracks all around the jar. I was using Das modelling material -, a great paper clay, but since not all of you were able to find it, I searched for a paper clay recipe that anyone can prepare at home. I found this great recipe here I tested it and I made sure it doesnt crack, and is very strong. I really like how smooth it can be and all the details you can make with it. It dries fast and is super strong. I like the result so much! You can keep it in the fridge for 5 to 7 days

Tried this recipe twice. When freshly made, it works nicely and can be smoothed pretty well on the sculpture. But the leftover clay dries out too quickly even when tightly wrapped in film and stored in an airtight container in the fridge. Both times i made the clay, the leftovers dried out almost completely the very next day. So essentially i can only make this if i use the clay right away. I will look for a different recipe.

I found this recipe doesn't work, when the last ingredient is added the mixture becomes so dry and separates so badly that no amount of kneading - I spend over 10 minutes - will save it. I had to throw it out as it was not salvageable. It was such a waste of money and time. Really disappointed.

I got so inspired with your works that i used your recipe to make airdry clay and tried making a fairy house. i think i didn't shred the toilet paper enough that the clay taexture was not so fine, but nevertheless the the outcome was still ok. Thank you so much!

hi i love your work. Im just very concerned about the carcinogenic properties in joint compound. from what i have seen masks and gloves are indicated when using it. i realize there are few alternatives that work as well but please take care.

Hello, I bought an 'all purpose filler', as it is called in the UK to make this recipe but I noticed you use a powder form of joint compound. Is it possible to create this paper mache clay using the premixed filler that I bought? Thank you.

When learning to oil paint, I was taught to never use baby oil (mineral oil) because it never fully dries. Seems it would eventually cause an issue in the clay.

Im so glad I rechecked your clay making playlist cuz I was gonna use cardboard since thats what I remember you using years ago but this is definitely a lot easier

Can I use this directly on glass or plastic and it wont crack? Also have premix joint compound. How much to use of that vs powder type?

Hello! I really love your work, you are very creative, I would like to know if you use any antifungal to avoid fungi. Thanks
