Composition is one of the most important things when it comes to any kind of painting or artwork. Study a great deal of this and you will have no trouble: ) Sage-fire: Another form of composing a painting that was used by the Old Masters is called the Golden section. It is best described as taking a rectangle and making a square and where that square ends is another rectangle, forming the whole rectangle. On that line is a good place to put your focal point. This can be done again and again with the remaining inner rectangle which in turn creates a spiral pattern like that of a snail's shell. I can't completely explain it, but is something worth looking into.
