I'm totally like what you say. I learn more by trying to draw from what I see, a picture, a drawing etc. I also like to see a lot of videos and thats how I learn.
I try to draw everything. Faces are kinda easy but I really want to learn how to draw a real portrait of a person.

Very good video! I-ll be trying this right away. It-s kinda hard to tell, how much time did it take you to finish this drawing? It will take me longer but I-m getting faster (I know it-s not a race but I-m getting more efficient than when I started. Thank you

Something I learned from a book was to trace and work from the photo. This was in a book about drawing people. It will teach you to pay attention to what you are really seeing.
Still life was encouraged too.
