In his interview, Steve Huston talks about how to grow as an artist, how to develop a unique style, how to find what calls to you, and much more. Steve Huston is one of the best artists and teachers of our time. His advice has been helping me figure out how I should approach making art and why I create art in the first place. It-s a mighty 106 minute conversation filled with golden nuggets. Don-t miss this one. Steve recently published an instructional book on figure drawing. I was privileged to take lessons from Steve Huston when he was brought in to teach the Disney artists in 1991 while I worked there as an animator. He revealed to us the principles developed by the masters in the past 500 years-- principles they should have taught me in college but didn't. I continued to absorb wisdom from this extraordinarily well-informed, skilled but regular guy until he left L. A. for Montana in 2002. He changed my life.

Ohh my good, this is horrible: like most painters SH shall paint, not talk - and definitly not present these riculous selfmade tales: Michelangelo probably dropped his brush and invented a new position - really? - and LA is the artcenter of the world. - really? This is horrifically etnocentric.

This guy was all over the place. He speaks like he knows what he-s talking about but really he-s just saying way too many things that aren-t concrete. Goes off topic after almost every question and was not having a conversation with Stan. Like that say, Never meet your heroes.

Steve Houston and Jeff Watts are SO different in their approaches, but in a way, SO complementary about being an artist (just saw an interview with Jeff. I'm already in love to both of them: )

Three dots explained in the video.
He said triangle but I thought of the letter L
I didn-t want to connect the last line. Everyone takes information differently.
