So that's what happened to me for the last 30 years. 20: 00, Doing fundamentals, listening and learning but not creating any art. It finally clicked when I tried to copy a face of an old man, was way off, but then said to myself, ok, so I have an idea where the eyes and nose go, so I'm gonna make my own old man with the knowledge I have and then I'm gonna keep drawing old man faces with each rendition getting better most of the time. Now I can take that face and create a composition and create my own art. I just need to draw his body now a thousand times and then I'm all set.

This is one the best video I've seen so far that really helped me out to understand drawing from references isn't a crime, thx alot for sharing, its been thirteen years without drawing and im already back at it nd 10 times stronger nd smarter bcuz youtube videos really helping me out to improve my skillsnd this time i won't stop, i love to draw, thisis one of favorite hobbies.

Every time I reach a point I thought would be a real achievement I see a universe beyond it and where I started is just a few steps ago. The biggest barriers for getting better have been my assumptions about things I thought I had to conform to. Art isn't science. You don't dissect something that's alive.
