I bought one of these varieties (I think the pink sorbet) 2-3 years ago, and still have it growing in a huge pot in the backyard. The plant itself seems winter hardy and healthy; it has survived two cold, snowy winters, and has put on new growth in the summers. I've added blueberry-specific soil amendments from time to time. But it has never set fruit for me, whereas it was loaded with berries when I purchased it. I'm guessing it is either not getting enough sunlight or is stagnating since I don't have other varieties planted nearby to cross-pollinate. If others have experienced these issues, I'd be curious to know what you've learned. Thanks!

Loved your video! I had a question about blueberry plants during the winter. My bush turned completely red and lost all of its leaves this past November. Now it's February and I see little red buds on the ends of the branches. I heard somewhere that blueberry plants are deciduous - is this that? Did I kill it? XD
I'm in zone 9b and I used acidic fertilizer fairly often last year. I stopped fertilizing in the winter and reduced my watering because of tips I've read in the past.

My peach sorbet bushel and berry root system wash very tiny. And mostly potting soil dirt in the blue bucket from a local nursery. I planted them next to hybrid sweetheart from home depot, which was much more established with hearty root lock system. I planted them directly into the ground with some peat moss potting soil and top soil. Along with mulch topped. Well balanced mostly sun with shade. 4 foot apart. Think I should be ok? New Jersey central. Blueberry capital of the country!

Hello i bought some blueberry starts from the store and they are very young and small. They are the Bushel and berry. Pink icing and they only have about 6 in growth. But they are getting flowers on them. Im asking if i should cut them off to trans plant them because they are in small pouches with some type of substrate. I just want to make sure im not going to harm them if i cut off the flowers. I think they are flowering due to stress and i haven't even put them in a pot yet.

Maybe you might have some insight of what i could do. I had my blueberries originally in ground. They did not do good at all. I moved them to a pot where 1 of the 2 is thriving. I wanna build a raised bed for them but im uncertain of moving them again. I also noticed that the soil in the containers i put them in has gone down a lot. If i add more soil can i bring it up around the stems of the plants or you think that will rot them?

This makes me so sad about mine. I just cannot do anything right with them. I got two varieties from Bushel & Berry, put them in terracotta pots and--one month later--they're dead. I have another one now and it also seems to be on its way out. I find it really hard to tell if I'm overwatering or underwatering them, if they're getting too much sun or too little sun. So frustrated.

I have container blueberrys, 1 SHB, 2 NHB, 2 rabbiteye. I usually bring all containers inside when they predict freeze, but should i leave the Blues outside to collect their chill hours? We have extremely late freezes this year, Mar. 11 and it s 32 again. 2 days ago it was almost 80! Will be back up there Wed.

Like you I foraged for wild blueberries in Alaska, so I thought they were a cold weather plant. Then I went to a blueberry farm near Conroe, TX. HOT climate. I'm gonna try container growing some in the west Texas desert.

When I bought my 2 bushes 3-4 years ago I did not know anything at all so I bought topsoil and poured it in a container and put the plant in it where it has been all these years. How do I undo this?

Agreed. My low chill hour blueberries didn't do as well as my high chill during a 30 year ice storm in Texas. My pink lemonade blueberry is still having a hard time coming back.
