Antique Dough Bowl Turned Succulent Planter handmade: Awesome! Just browsing and i came across your video as I've recently developed an interest in growing and decorating succulents I'm so glued to what you were creating and couldn't wait to see the result. It's brilliant. I have one question though - usually when we plant succulents, it is advisable to have drainage holes at the bottom. In this case, there's none unless this is just going to be a temporary arrangement that the client wants and is not meant to be maintained for a longer time?

I suck at succulents! Daughter bought me one that she had put together, all of them died except for one Lavender Scallops which has grown into a very odd long skinny plant with 3 shoots 6-8 tall each. But its living and Im happy about that but its very lonely.
It is currently in a terra-cotta pot about 10 inches in diameter Im guessing. I wonder if I can plant some other succulents and try again without disrupting the Lavender Scallops. Any thoughts?

Where I am, we don't call this a sago plant, this is a cycad. This can grow fairly tall if not trimmed. The palm that we make into sago grows very tall, bears fruits and tne palm fronds can be used for roofing and basketry. I think culture and geography plays a part too, in relation to uses of the sago leaves that is.

You did a wonderful job on this planter. I am living on Vancouver Island and I am doing research on making an outdoor, year-round succulent garden. Even though your plants are probably not hardy enough for my project, I have some great inspiration and ideas from what you have shown here. Thanks so much.

Love your imagination! How will the plants feel about not having a drainage for water of because those are succulents, they dont get much water and u let them dry throughout before watering again?
