Christmas Eve Service Flower Arrangement Garden Answer Diana: Hi Laura, Beautiful! Ingenious with the paper bags! I have a couple of arrangement tips for you. There is a product called Crowning Glory. It is a wax sealant that you spray on after you have processed your flowers - (picked off leaves, and given the stem a fresh cut) and it makes the flowers last so much longer. It seals in the moisture that escapes out of the head. It really works. Also, with all flowers except for roses, I fill the sink and let them all soak about 20 minutes to re-hydrate if I have gotten them from the florist or grocery store. Helps again with getting more time out of them. The last tip is with hydrangea's there is a spice called Alum Powder. It use to be used for pickling. If you dip your fresh cut stem in the powder, you can get a hydrangea to last up to 3 weeks! It would have worked on those babies you had. You can order it from Amazon. People are always surprised how long my arrangements last, and these are the reasons why! Yea, I got to give you a tip for the thousands you've given me!

Of course I would be grateful if I won any of these prizes! You and Aaron do such a great job of teaching and sharing I love it! Now if I were to choose, 1st would be Fairy Garden and 2nd would be The Succulent Source! I do want you to know how much I have learned from you! A lot! If I have questions I search your site! I usually get my answer there! Thank you!

Very nice arrangement, you always do such lovely work. What really intrigued me was the fact that you had fresh greens and points to work with. We've been sold out for the last 4 days, which I consider a huge success. Four years ago I had to scrap 200 points - never again! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, much love to you and yours.

Hi, Laura. Merry Christmas to you and your family! I got this Red Queen plant (Euphorbia pulcherrima Willd, it's actually very popular here for Christmas but I'm wondering how often I should water it. Should I water it every single day? It looks like it needs water daily. Also directly to the soil or to the plant stand?

Dip the hydrangea stem in a bit of alum (found in the spices at your grocery store) and they will not wilt at all. In fact they will last forever and dry out so beautifully you can use them again in a dried floral arrangement. I dip all my woody stems in alum so they last & last with no wiltng.

You display wonderful community spirit by doing all these things to give back to the community you live in. What a much better world we would live in if everyone did more of what you do. Many Blessings to you and your family.

Clever reuse of the Poinsettia sleeve. I help grow thousands of Poinsettias every year and they cannot be used as a cut flower. Glad you did't do that. Thanks for your gift of videos all year long.

Have you tried the floral foam from Dollar Tree? Does it compare to the more expensive selection at craft stores?
