Succulent Inspiration Garden Answer Jill: Been watching your videos for the past two days, and find them beautiful and interesting! I am desiring to get into doing something with succulents. I live in the northeast, so winters are cold. Near coast, so not dry. The only light we have as far as windows is one east facing window that gets partial sunlight for a short time as tree outside close by. North windows dominate our place which as you will know isn't over abundant where sun is concerned. Then one west facing window which is also partially hindered of sunlight due to trees, but gets some. I would like your opinion as to what would be best for me to try first. And what varied possible arrangement to try. And where would you suggest I purchase them. I know this a lot to ask, but it will be much appreciated if you would shed a little light on this for me. And thanks so much in advance! Love your work!

Thank you for your informative videos! I have a couple of questions I've had a hard time answering. Do you know what the typical lifespan of a succulent (or any other houseplant) is? I expect my plants will live for many years with proper care, but I'm not sure how many years is natural for any species? Also, do you know if a complete photo encyclopedia of all plant species exists? I am having a really hard time identifying some of my plants! Thank you!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your videos. they are so inspiring but I can't keep a succulent alive to save my life. I used to have soooo many beautiful plants but now I can't keep any alive. I'm soooo soooo sad!

My cat seems like Dexter is in regards to being outdoor-indoor. We took her indoors after a snow, but after 3 years she still goes in and out, preferring the outdoors.

Are these planted in regular soil or a cactus type media? It looks like a tight fit. Will this flourish and be okay without repotting in the next 6 months?

Seeing the way you handle your succulents when potting, I always wonder why does my succulent leaves always break off easily when I do repotting. Help!
