Boxwoods Bad Prune Job Weir Removal Japanese Maple
video description
Also, can you do a video on pruning lilacs? Ive pruned mine and they are very old and then they never bloom again. Ive tried to dig them up to put new ones in and that was about impossible. Id need one of those big equipment guys that you have to take out trees and concrete! How can I make them happy so they bloom profusely? We have crazy weather here in Central PA and sometimes they seem to get stunted due to freezing. How long do they live?
Thanks! Love your videos!

I really enjoy your videos just found you about a week ago. I used to do this the old school way with books being retired and loving gardening. I've joined the new age love the videos and info but I'm in the SE just north of Atlanta zone 7B and lots of Ga red clay and acid soil. We moved to our final retirement home an older home since we wanted mature trees and landscape. Now I'm ripping out sone and replacing like your bushes some end of life here too. Now my issues is not cutting down the bushes it's getting out the roots in this clay almost like concrete. I'm finding I must just amend the soil a lot and dig the best I can - sometimes just building it up the soil. I would love to see how you get out those roots.

I love spanish lavender topiaries! I tried to plant a hedge of spanish lavender a few years back along our front entrance steps and didn't realize that there were pockets of dead space under the soil so not only did some of the lavender do horrible because of lack of sun closer to the house, some died when the roots went deep enough to hit the air pockets. I have 2 of 8 left to take out and they did not bloom this year. I tried transplanting some of the better looking ones but they died, I did pot up a dozen cuttings which are doing very well. I will take more cuttings from the 2 left in the ground and try to grow them as standards for the patio containers. Great video! love the boxwood and the entry pots!

come on who doesn't love red flowers! I believe that every colour has a place in a garden. It's how you use colour that matters and where. There are red roses that exist that are to die for. I however am not a big fan of mixed pots as much for large properties but more so for small yards and balconies. When I'm asked what's my favourite colour I always ask that depends what you are referring to and need more context.

Good morning Laura (and your behind the scenes guy) I am just thrilled I found your video's! You've helped me soooo much in furthering my gardening experience. I bought the hose reel you had previewed and we're going to buy another, it is top notch. Thank you very very much for all the time you take to help us be informed. My time in the garden is time with God and I am blessed to have my hands in his creation!

Really loved this video. So informative. You all work together really well. It's so nice to see you be able to dig your own holes in the ground for planting. I have horrible dirt here at my house. It use to be a creek bed so I hit rock with the first kick of the shovel. It's horrible. We live in the mountains, so are always hitting rock anyway. I need an auger every time I need to dig. lol

Great video, with exception of public intentional embarrassment of your fantastic husband. Absolutely no need for this. You could have pointed out the incorrect pruning, but left out the set-up confrontational humiliation bit. From an older woman, these little things are remembered, and do count in relationships.

I have a very large maple tree in the corner of my front yard and it has a large root system that spreads over most of the yard. It is very bare under the tree and it really needs plants underneath. I live in zone 6. Do you have any suggestions about how to solve this problem?

I am sooooo excited for that gross privet hedge to come out, the improvement to that area by your kitchen will be amazing once there's not a mosty woody hedge there. Please tell me that its on the top of the list for replacement once you find some more boxwoods!

You used a blower to clean up: ) My husband always uses one for much easier clean up! Good talk about the difference in planting perennials versus annuals. Course we're in Florida so we can plant everything. Notice most do appreciate some Shade: )
