Planting a Winecraft Black Smokebush! Garden Answer Peggy: I enjoyed this video because I am making a list of plants that will give me not only blooms, but pretty foliage in the fall. We are building a pergola in our backyard next spring and probably building a raised bed for flowers and plants. I also want to have a fire pit somewhere because I enjoy sitting outside in the fall and think the grandkids would enjoy roasting marshmallows. P. S. Can't believe that you're already six months along; you look great!

I bought this plant this week in sale the space is not ready at all. Our outdoor enclosure for our indoor cats will arrive in 3 weeks and originally I wanted to plant around it in the spring but there were sooo Many plants I wanted. Around 12-15 plants + tulip bulbs THANK YOU LAURA haha your excitement is contagious

Thankyou for showing us there is beauty in small bushes and shrubs, as well as plants where foliage is the focus. Using these types of plants is a great way to help us get out of our plant comfort zone. Personally I tend to go for plants that have bright flowers and also flower all summer. Great video Take care.

What easy to care for plants can you show us for Florida lost all plants because of hurricane. any advice would be great. Thank you and you look wonderful and say thank you to your hubby for digging those holes. Maybe he can continue to dig them for you after you have the baby

My mum always wanted a smokebush but the varieties available here are too big for our garden. Unfortunately I couldn't find any shop that sells the variety you planted here in Germany: c
The spot you picked for it is gorgeous, though!

Thanks for the recommendation on this. Can you provide an update on how this guy is doing in your garden? I've seen him in your tours, but I don't recall that you've mentioned an update. I've planted 2 in my garden so far this year! And I want more!

The modren blush is a universal host for black spot so it will defoliate pretty severely during the summer. I'd recommend looking for a more resistant cultivar unless you want to spray/dust with fungicides often. (Unless it doesn't matter)

Oh, those plump rose hips. You must have lots of them. Have you ever made rose hip jelly? It has a mild, honey-like flavor. I'm so glad this smokebush is hardy for my zone 4 climate. I may have to find a spot for it. I love the flowers.

Could you plant this variety at the foundation of the house since it is the small version? Need something for an outset on our foundation that provides color besides green, thanksLove watching you and have learned a lot!
