1 Year Old Succulent Arrangement Garden Answer Paulette: I made my first medium size arrangement today. I learned about tamping down the fluffy cactus soil the hard way. I had it almost perfect except the plants were too low as I tamped down the soil. So, I took it all apart, mounded up the soil, tamped it down, and mounted it up again. If only I had watched this first! I have a hard time putting them close together. I dont know if my fingers are too ft or what! As I put soil around them and tamp them, it seems the other ones come loose or I bump the leaves. Thanks for this video!

Thank you for sharing videos like this about succulents. I always question how to dismantle my old arrangement to make new ones. This totally motivated me to redo some of mine that definitely looked robbed from me taking cuttings. We did a outdoor succulent garden last year we definitely experienced some loss but I'm excited about what is thriving. I love watching what is established and loving life outside in our zone.

So are you able to use the leaves or stems that you cut off the original plant elsewhere? I kinda got that from what you said. Im just now starting and your videos are great but Im just curious if/when I get to that point of moving the plants can I start a whole new pot with those extras cut off? Can I use a leaf I cut off of say the? elephant? Succulent and then try and grow another one?

I know you mention mealybugs often but I never realized until right now what they actually are. I thought it was just buildup on my succulents from occasionally overwatering, but turns out it's mealybugs! Which from my brief research, it seems overwatering can cause mealybugs to appear, so technically that's not incorrect. I just need to treat them now.

3: 44 OMG! I have lost Coleus plants one after another because of this Millie Bugs. I tried every remedy possible, from dish soap solution to store bought bug spray and NOTHING get rid of them. They are supper tiny & sticky. They hide at the base of leaves and everywhere else. What did you use to get ride of them? Please share: )

Hes looking a little droopy: / Any suggestions? :)

Thank you for this helpful video. Also, I truly appreciated your candor about chronic mealy bugs with your one fireside crassula. I've tried to share my personal experiences with mealy bugs and how certain succulents are more prone to these pests, but some people got SO sensitive it got crazy. Lol

Its an amazing video of succulent arrangement update. but my real concern here is you have been popping off leaves of succulents with bare hands. as the sap is poisonous and at sometime around 11: 53 it itched you. be more careful with Baby Benjamin. babys skin is always super sensitive.

Thanks for your update. It's great to see how the arrangement has fared after a year. You mentioned they've been indoors? Do you choose specific succulents for indoors vs outdoors? I tried having mine indoors, but they mostly got leggy and not very pretty after a few months.
