I love coleus! I just moved to NC & needed a new color too so this wine color will looking amazing up against our grey home.
Your right I bought coleus in FL from Bonnie's (not discouraging against them) but Ionce the blooms started I had to cut them off quite often. Sadly 1 bad frost killed them when it dropped down into the low 30's. Usually all my plants make it but sadly it didn't and it had grown to an amazing height and it bushed out so beautifully too!
I'm definitely going to give it a try even as a house plant in my office!

Hmmmm Not to sure about that old fashion Asylum being on the smaller size? When I lived in So Cal I lived on a piece of property that had once been a dairy farm and everything I planted grew large. Most people dont know that So Cal was full of farms and that it all changed in the late 60's. Dont know that I agree with nursery men fiddling with the genetics of plants as I like the flowers of the coleus's.

I love coleus! I cant plant sweet potato vine as it doesnt die in winter and is very hard to get rid of. Tropical vinca reseed EVERYWHERE so I dont have to much love for them either. And my local nurseries dont sell supertunias. But Ive noticed in my zone 9 that impatiens and begonias are beautiful perennials. Sadly coleus doesnt like our mild winters and never makes it past January.

That will be gorgeous when it all grows in. I can't help but cringe, though, at the cost of this planting for the annuals, LOL. Maybe you could show how to do cuttings and propagate them so the average person (well, not really as most Americans don't have greenhouses - boy I wish I did, though) could enjoy them year to year without repurchasing?

My next major project in my garden is irrigation. I think, this will be nice have, before I begin to plant more shrubs and trees. So, I'm getting ready to watch your videos on drip irrigation. I watched them before and seem like a doable task. Thank you both for taking the time to the viewers how it should be done.

I have bought truck loads of mulch over the years, and there is this minty vine that started growing in it, and it has take over everything, even in the yard. It all started in the places with that mulch. Is there a mulch you can buy in a bag that wont have what ever that vine is in it. Thanks

The colieus is beautiful. I wish I could afford to plant that many! I have a question about vegetable gardening. I am new at it and don't understand cool weather and warm weather plants. Do I need to take out things like lettuce once the temperature gets warmer? Your vegetable garden is great.
