Planting a Pollinator Magnet Nepeta in Front of Our Chicken Coop! Garden Answer handmade: I bought a cats pajamas nepeta last year on your suggestion i got it from Romence gardens online they were small pots and I got 2 and paid $50. They were also proven winners brand. They were so sad looking compared to yours and I did everything I could to help them thrive. It really made me so sad that they looked so bad and i just basically lost my money. I even ran drip line and fertilized like you suggest. I learned to never spend so much money on plants that you can't see in person because you will definitely be disappointed in the end.

Now that's dedication! Doing a video in a hail-storm! Love the color! I have one of my garden plots done in yellow and various shades of purple/lavender. It IS a great combination! I usually enjoy watching what I call Aaron's speed-up button where he fast forwards a lot of your work. (Because I always wish I had a speed-up button) But I REALLY enjoyed seeing some in slow motion on this video because that is my actual speed! And thus the reason it takes me about 6 hrs to do what should be about 90 minutes of gardening!

Noticed you do not use post hole digger too much, it sure saves time, when digging hole after holes. In Socal plantings of new shrubs, we often make a large water well from soil, around each plant, inorder to trap in rain water and make the plant grow faster. Water well gets the rain water in to the root zone immediately. I prefer not to plant pollinators by public used areas, cause of the risk of bee and insect bites. Entire west coast will be experiencing rain this week, late and wet spring, compared to spring 1965.

I would absolutely love it if you did a 'gardening for beginners' series! I mean a complete, no clue, absolutely no experience starting point. I don't know what zones are, I don't know how to plant borders beyond 'dig a hole and stick a plant in it', I really want to start a container vegetable garden in an old wheelbarrow that I salvaged but no idea where to start. Pretty please from the UK! X

I am enjoying your videos so much since we are locked down. Been 4 weeks since out of the yard. I pray this isn't the way it's going to be from now on. This virus is something else. My sons' wedding is supposed to be on June 1st. I doubt it will happen. I don't even know if he was able to get a marriage license this week. Anyway, you brighten my day! Stay home, stay safe, stay well.

Just lovely truly lovely. Do you have any suggestions on a plant that is similar to the cat's pajama or your sweet romance lavender that can tolerate partial shade. I would love to have a row of lavender like you but it will be in a location that gets morning shade and partial afternoon sun. Zone 10 South Florida. Enjoying and loving all your videos. Stay safe be healthy and blessed

Hi Laura! For plants that dont like too much water, how do you handle lots and lots of rain? Im in Northwest Arkansas and have seen tons of rain the last few weeks, and its continuing throughout next week. I think some of the Rock N Grow sedums and Sweet Romance Lavander we planted are starting to show the effects of too much water. Any info helps! Thanks!

When I watch your videos, aside from my great admiration of the beauty of your gardens, I often wonder. how does she handle deer? How do you keep the deer from devouring everything? You answered my question. lol. You don't have that problem. Lucky you! The deer are like squirrels in my area. Beautiful plant! I love the color and softness of appearance.
