i enjoy growing things as well. I enjoyed your video on the sunflower. We grow smaller ones and leave them for the birds. then I purchase some to eat. No more though. Not after today. I wonder though at how dirty they are. because of the dust. Once shelled, do you rinse them off or is it just the shell that is dirty? I learn a lot everytime I watch your video. Thank you kindly.

What kind of fertilizer do you use to make sunflowers tall and big like that?
I also planted large seed type sunflowers, they don't grow well
I've fertilized it many times, but it's only about 50 cm to 1 meter tall
And when harvested the seeds are very small (normal length of seeds is about 2-3 cm)
//sorry for my bad English

Do they tolerate high heat dry weather? In my country, mid June mean very sunny, dusty weather, with temperature not less than 45C (113F) & may reach up to 60C (140 F! Its a challenge to have garden in my country, growing plants must be in-door or in a greenhouse.

I have grown simple sunflowers for a couple of years. This will be the spring that I grow an actual patch, about 60 plants. Is there any other uses for the white cottony matter. I compost most of mine but I am always looking for multiple uses of any thing.

so probably a silly question, but if I have picked sunflowers in a field and had them in a vase for a few days, can I somehow use them to harvest seeds or would they not be mature enough since they were picked while still vibrant? Thank you

I noticed many of my seeds have little bug holes. My goal is to save seeds for planting next year and to eat the rest (sunbutter and granola. Any advice on do I need to pick out all the seeds with holes and how's to get the shells off?

great video thank you for the information, quick question. With the 19 heads you harvested there how many pounds of seed do you think you were able to collect? I wanna plan to use mine this year for my bird feeders over the winter.

Thanks for the tip about the wasps because I'm allergic to wasps and I'm growing a whole bunch of these this year for my chickens. And it's so long as I know that they're there I won't accidentally get stung from ignorance
