Flower Bed Cleanup, Leaf Mulch, Dahlia Storage & Cooking Butternut Squash Chili! Jessica: Hi Laura, Well, you've inspired me to cook! I've been a life long gardener but always resisted the kitchen chores. Anyway, I made your chili for my grandson (and his parents. William is just a wee bit younger than Benjamin and I thought if your kid liked the chili, then Will may too. I had to substitute pumpkin for butternut squash but it was delicious and dry enough (the guys in our house don't like to drink their meals either, Aaron. Your cooking segments are a really nice extension to your gardening topics, and I'm trying to patiently wait for baby girl nursery updates. Lastly, I too suffered from rib issues when I was pregnant (30+ years ago, my OB suggested using a wide ACE bandage to provide a bit of support between my breasts and my belly. My daughter when pregnant wore support bands above and below her belly. You've probably explored all the sensible solutions yet I encourage you to try to see if you can find some relief for the last three months. With joy from the kitchen! Jessica

Hi Laura,
Thank you for this great video. I am amazed how much you have done in one day and even were able to make videos at the same time. Obviously you have a lot of energy and you are very hard working.
I am also impressed with the number of dahlias you have this year. I love dahlias as well, but have hard time overwintering them in the cold zone 5b without a basement that is cool enough and with shed that is too cold. I have tried various methods, but nothing seems to work well for me and I usually need to buy new dahlias each year. Buying beautiful dahlias here is not an easy task since we usually have very poor selection of these flowers in my area (Greater Toronto Area in Canada. I wish I could buy some dahlias from you, but I don't think it is possible to buy dahlias from USA when one lives in Canada. Anyway since you have so many, maybe you can try to sell some locally.
Thank you very much for the butternut squash recipe. I will try it out. It looks quite good.

Hi Laura, I haven't been watching a lot of your videos lately because we are in winter mode in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL Canada, so my gardening has ended for the season. I'm in full-blown Christmas planning mode. I'll be watching for your Christmas decorating videos. Of course, I'll watch the missed videos either over winter or during my fall season next year. I had to watch this one just to check in and hear your voice, lol. I see that you're looking well and still active. Bless you, baby, Aaron, and that precious little Benjamin.

I am totally in for a video on drip tape! We were considering that and then you just happened to use it in your space. Any insight and pointers would be great. Learned a lot from your install, but there are still so many choices!
Just so much to love about videos like this. The nitty-gritty stuff Ive been putting off so I could research (like what to put down in my veggie garden now for next year) is super helpful. And I love the cooking segments.

I always thought you were supposed to push aside the top layer of mulch aside until you find the soil line and then dig your hole and backfill with only soil, trying to avoid mulch chunks getting into the hole when you backfill. if you are doing a leaf mulch on top, are you worried about the mulch layer thats already there underneath? or does that mulch breakdown into the soil with the leaves and bone meal?

I have been a gardener forever and just recently found you. You are a treasure! Love your videos and you! Since I'm new I was wondering what you do with your massive amounts of produce and cut flowers? Do they get sold at a farmers market? Thank you again for your amazing knowledge, diversity of content and down to earth personality!

Great video. I grew butternut squash this year, first time. Will be trying this recipe. Looked really delicious. This year I planted several Gauras in containers, love their airiness and dancing blooms. My zone is a 5 and I am wondering if I can overwinter them inside and should I cut them back. Thank you for your help.

I love a mish mash of things in your videos. My husband had never seen you cooking before, so enjoyable. On your island I could see a white planter that looked like a kangaroo? Please show us up close! Also, my husband insists that Russell knows when the camera is on & shows up so he can be filmed! LOL!

Im so impressed with how much you can get done, while mothering a child! Ive got two, and I feel like I have to put my gardening goals on hold. How do you manage, and find the time? Inquiring minds want to know! Thanks for the videos. I just found you, and love your content.

Hi Laura, I just want to ask about those supertunia. Is it possible (if you want to) dig those supertunias, trim and store them in the greenhouse and they can be use for next year? Can they still perform? I know propagating those is not an option as they might still be under PBRs.
