Digging Up & Moving 34 Hostas! Garden Answer Kelly: Loved this video. as well as all your others. Your garden is absolutely gorgeous! Love all the beautiful hostas. Do you ever divide them and if so, how big do you let them get before you do that? Also, what advice can you give me about weed control? We have 1. 5 acres outside the Portland area and every Spring I battle weeds for months. I want to focus on beautifying. not pulling weeds.
Thanks so much for your informative videos! Oh, BTW, I LOVE my Hoselink, which I saw on and bought via one of your other videos! Happy Gardening!

I have a hosta problem to. so I built some raised beds and moved all my hostas to a better location. well after assembly of the beds, dirt and all, hostas have decided to come all the way through my 2 foot raised bed and all around the beds. thought I got them all to, but guess not. Anyone have an idea to keep them from overtaking my raised beds, I keep clipping them off but they keep coming back.

Hi Laura, i have planted 8 boxwood trees that are pretty small at the moment and i would like to eventually get them into cone shapes from when can i start training them into that shape? Also i live in South Africa and we are going into our winter. side note: Our winters are pretty hot with minimal rainfall sub tropical. Just cold morning and afternoons. Thanxx

honestly not even suprised they all came back well even with the removal of the pine trees, there are several here that have been here forever and some stone steps had to be redone and several were broken into pieces with barely any dirt in late august! and now literally every single one is up fine in their new spots

Please if anyone can help me, I have a question.
What is causing my Hostas to have mold underneath the plants? Also have a mold issue under my shasta Daisy's?
I have never had this happen before.
I just had to treat for 3rd time for slugs/snails and now this mold problem!
Thank you to anyone with advice.

Dividing my old hostas was the hardest task in gardening I've EVER UNDERTAKEN! THE GRIP INTO THE GROUND WAS UNMATCHED AND THE CLUMPS THEMSELVES WERE SO DENSE THE DIVIDING THEM WAS REQUIRING HELP FROM HUBBY. The clumps were 4 feet wide and started to hollow in center. Hope I'll never have to do that again!

Surprised that with your wide open lawn your hostas are safe. We planted some in our backyard and not a single one survived because they were being eaten by rabbits. And this is after I walked around and sealed the fence. Same with lillies. ANy suggestions here?

Appreciate your love for shade gardens. That is 98% of what my gardening space is. Do you have any suggestions for shade to help get different colors of foliage? Other than hostas too many deer in my area for those to be an option.
