Planting a Few More Perennials in My Parents Garden! Garden Answer zetagundamzz: I remember when I first started watching your videos (I think Benjamin was still a baby) thinking 'wow how does she have the energy to do all that work in her garden and still work in other people's gardens on top of that? '. Here we are now and I've got my own vegetable and flower garden and I just planted a brand new flower garden for my moms for Mother's Day. It turns out when you love what you're doing, you just want to keep doing it and share that joy with as many people as possible. Thanks for constantly inspiring me!

Yes, the terracing is just, well, exactly what you said -- cozy. There's a small scale opportunity to do that on my property, but. doing it myself would be a monumental task, and I'm not sure I can make it priority to pay for. It's just a small hill in two areas, maybe a 3 foot rise, but the rest is flat, so I can work with it as it is. But the same rise runs thru my next door neighbor's yard and the previous owner terraced it and you really can't beat it.

Ive hired a landscaper to plant a front garden along my front stairs. I have always planted my own garden, including trees I my yard. In the front, I had the evergreens removed and would like some of your suggestions as to what would be appealing. My daughter wants a lilac bush, but were at a loss as to what else. Our home is in a Chicago suburb, facing south. Lots of sun. Near bunnies and rabbits.
PLEASE suggest. Thank you!

Oh yay! SO excited for that tour with your mom. I'd love to see videos along the lines of chats with people who have influenced you. Your parents in their garden, how they got interested, what they're most excited about, favorite or least favorite garden chore, etc. Paul? Your siblings? Grandparents? Aaron's parents? Seems like you have a lot of plant love through your friends and families!

It will be nice to have your mother give us her perspective on plant choice and design. Many of us have established gardens which brings additional challenges. Such as what do you when the tree providing the shade for the past thirty years for the shade garden must come down. By the way the Hose Link retractable hose was one of the best purchases I made. Thank you for the recommendation!

Laura, I see your mum has Sweet William growing in the bed at the 6: 42 min marker. How in the world do you control it from spreading! I am constantly pulling it out every spring in my main bed and regret putting it in loose. Maybe I should just go with it as it is such a beautiful ground cover. I was a newbie gardener and did it without realizing the consequences! Thanks for your reply.

Morning Everyone. This year is a big year of firsts for me. I have been ripping out a bunch of existing dead shrubs and creating flowerbeds. Planted my first Hosta and Hydrangea. Bought a gorilla cart that has been a real game changer. I even started a ton of plants from seed over the winter. Never had a garden before and I am loving it. Thank you for the inspiration.

Hello. Can you please tell me where I can buy Anna's Magic Ball Arborvitae (Thuja) online. Nurseries near me in Pennsylvania have none and are not even ordering it (Why is that such a hard specimen to find. Will be needing it as a final piece to my landscape project which starts tomorrow. I fell in love with it when I saw it in your garden last year!

What is the ground cover with little white flowers that is planted behind where you put the Boogie Woogie Sedum and growing around the tulips? It looks like Lemon Coral Sedum, but I did't think the Lemon Coral had flowers. I love when you take us through your parents beautiful garden! Thank you for sharing it with us!
