Planting Low Maintenance/High Impact Plants at Our Local Community College! Garden Answer Diane: We have had an auger for years, since they first came out. Cant say it has been used much. Got it to plant lily bulbs which the voles have now decimated. But since we are putting our hose link on a post I suggested that the auger be used to loosen the soil and remove easier with the post hole digger. Amazed at how well it worked. First use of the hose link was a shower in the groin area when the coupler came apart on its own, cant say I like the design of it. I am used to steel mechanical ones where you pull the collar back, more reliable. Also, at my age 81, I cannot walk as fast as it requires to recoil. Really going to have to hustle, and hang on to try to slow it down. PS nice job on the college planting. Still no luck finding the varieties of PW that you use.

Thank you for providing us with your great knowledge and experience. Love your videos. I am beginning to install drip irrigation to my existing sprinkler system. We have six zones and there are several sprinkler heads in each zone. My vegetable garden is planted in between two sprinkler heads. What size tubing do I use for vegetables and what size drip tubing do I use for flowers in the garden? How many feet of 1/4 tubing can I run to have consistent water pressure throughout the length of my tubing? And same question for the 1/2 tubing?

You know, it would have been easy to say no to the CC, and no one would have blamed you. New baby, multiple LARGE projects going on at home and at other places around town, a busy young family schedule, and you still said yes. I so admire your generosity of spirit where your community is concerned. You're setting a beautiful example for your children and for the rest of us; we all have something to offer. You've set a high bar, Aaron and Laura. Lisa

This is going to look amazing! Cant wait to see updates. Please help my confusion about the planting in the triangle under the main entrance sign. The purple fountain grass will grow up to 36 high so the sign isnt obscured. But I thought the tag on the salvia said it can grow up to 48 tall. If the salvia is in front of the grasses, wont that obscure the grasses and the sign? Its will be gorgeous anyway, but I was just wondering about the heights.

Definitely agree with all the comments about your amazing generosity and commitment to your community! Thanks you for your spirit of giving back. Notice the display of what is probably rock forms of the local geology. looks like various types of basalt flows. I guess the school offers classes in geology? Looked it up online. they do offer that under basic science courses for transfer to undergrad degrees.

Color temperature advise whether in your home or in your garden is so valuable! Cool colors in a room effects your mental perception, too! A walk in your garden on a hot day planted with cool colors is by far more relaxing. Of course, nice shade trees are an asset. They truly can lower temps 10-15 degrees.

It will be beautiful if they get consistent water in your hot dry area. My fingers are crossed that they survive and flourish. I was thinking you could have used sedum and other drought tolerant plants in the areas that didn't have irrigation. Looking forward to updates later in the season.

I enjoy your videos. Ive learned so much. As a fellow westerner, and a skin cancer survivor, I encourage you to start wearing a hat! The sun is so strong and its harmful to your skin, even with sun block. Thanks for your great contributions. we love watching you.
