HUGE Tree Delivery! Garden Answer Shindees: I bought a Deodara Cedar after my sister died and right around the same time I had my first baby. It is so lovely to see it grow - we call it Siobhan's tree cos I called my daughter after my late sister. However Laura's have a much better shape than mine they look a bit fuller. Our winters go down to about -5 Celsius and it is thriving. It is in the ground 15 years now, it was about 3 feet when I planted it and today it is definitely 20 foot tall. It is gorgeous. I can't believe Laura says it grows to 40-50 feet tall. The tag on my tree (which I kept) says it grows to approx 25 feet! My older sister says it reminds her of Lady's Fingers every-time she calls and sees it dead centre of the lawn.

I would recommend you let the willows grow to their full size! We naturally have golden willows growing in my area, and a few of them are their full size; trust me theyre a beautiful sight.
While the main build of the tree turns grey with age, youll always have a bright and colourful crown on the tree, and when they get to their full size, their youngest branches reach past the roofline and towards the sky! Youll get to see those bright yellows and reds right up against a bright blue sky, and its stunning

Those trees are beautiful. I was wondering with birch trees do you know what variety that is or the one in front of your house? Yours are so white and beautiful, and mine has like peeling bark and it is brown not nice and white like yours. Is this like an old variety or what can I do to get my birch nice and white like yours? Or do I need a different variety? Also can't wait for your update on the blue poppy's. Did they sprout? Thank you for all the great content as always.

I'm excited for you! To have all of those beautiful trees to plant and to be able to create such a significant area of land is thrilling. I'm invested in your project because it brings me a lot of joy to see this come together for you and your family. I imagine your children playing there, picking fruit, playing hide & seek and making snowmen, all the fun they will have. Happy planting and happy gardening. For me, I can't imagine my life without it!

Yay! So excited. I totally recognised that Blue Atlas Cedar when you were unloading the truck! It is so elegant and gorgeous. Can't wait to see you plant it and hear gardening tips! I just planted it in my zone 5b garden last year and hopeful it survives our temps. They are close to zone 6. Veeery interested in hearing about Deodar Cedar as well! Sending you best wishes and hugs. Take care.

OH MY GOODNESS The John Deer Tractor hat is so cute. But To the real Question. I know you guys don't like to say how much money you spend on things and you probably get some sort of deal from the garden center, BUT aprox how much for all of those beautiful trees? I'm just jealous and curious you guys are amazing and deserve every bit of it! I can't wait to see where they all end up!

Love the trees! Especially the blue ones. Glad the birch grows really well for you. A question, the small 4foot cypress ( I don't remember the exact name so I'm calling them cypress)sold up front near the parking lot of commercial stores. when they're planted, don't like to survive. The tiny 1-2foot ones are fine. Was wondering if this was due to lack of water, stress or what?

How do you overcome the concern that I might have to remove this later if I dont like it or I put it in the wrong spot? I am always apprehensive to plant trees because our yard seems to always be changing and I would hate to plant something and then it be in the wrong spot? Now 10 years later I have planted very few trees but still every year I say this is the year! Lol

I feel Aaron's pain. Ouch! Hope he recovered fast. Benjamin did a great job handling the t-posts! They're awkward to carry and have sharp points. What a fine helper he is! It was great to see you all working together to unload and secure your gorgeous selection of trees. It's going to be exciting and fun to see where you choose to plant each of them.

I would suggest trying to use your loader on your tractor to push the post into the ground. You may need to have someone hold the post to get it started or set the bucket slightly lower then the length of the post, then just lower the bucket. On the farm we set posts like this all the time. With a little practice you will get the hang of it.
