After I lifted my ranunculus last year (my first try with them, I promptly forgot about them until about 4 weeks ago. They spent the winter in a plastic container in an unheated outbuilding on our farm, Zone 5b. I decided to try and presprout them anyway. They all were viable! I'm so happy because they were a sad, dried up looking lot! Hopefully our weather will straighten out soon so I can plant them out. I guess special care and storage is not always necessary.

I was so surprised to see you wearing red after you took your jacket off I had to do a double take! Im so used to only seeing you wear black, white or blue. You look great in anything though! Fabulous video like always. I live in a zone three so it will still be a while before I can plant my ranunculus but Im glad Im in a colder zone than you because its always nice to have a refresher course on how to do things before it comes time to do it in my garden.

Im new to growing Ranunculus so I have so many questions. I started mine in the hoop house. I have more corms that I havent done anything with because I thought it was to late. My questions are, would you uncover the plants during the day and cover them at night? And can I got ahead and plant the others that I thought was to late? I live in WA state and havent seen freezing temperatures. Were in the med 50s now.
Thank you for any help

Hey Laura. Watching your videos about winter sowing encouraged me to winter sow a bunch of seeds this past winter. I live in zone 6a. I winter sowed cosmos seeds the first week in March and three weeks later I have cosmos seedlings that are 2 inches tall! I also winter sewed pansy seeds. I see several pairs of green leaves hovering above the soil. So thats encouraging To know that Ill have a bunch of pansies soon!

Here in zone 9a our ranunculus started blooming this week. I started them outside in February, no protection from frost. We had several days in the upper 20s. Didnt damage them. I have been using clothes pins to pin row covers to my hoops for years. Works real well. Cant tell you how much I enjoy your programs. Hanging out with you every day is something I look forward to. Keep up the good work.

I have been watching your videos for a couple years now and am grateful to be a part of the wake up with garden answer crew. Question when you planted the rannunculus corms did you plant one per 4 inch pot or a couple per pot and then space them 9 inches apart in clusters. Thank you again for your inspiration and guidance.

Laura, thank you so much for all your videos. They are inspiring and chocked full of information. Thank to you and the mosquito bits for fungus gnats I have finally got rid of them! I wanted to pay it forward with another to I learned from Epic Gardening. Worm casting is effective against our other nemesis- spider mites!

My Mom and I left our little anemony patch in the soil over winter. We kind of forgot to dig them up and when i remembered we decided to just see what would happen. I really didnt think we would see them again but they are up and blooming already. So i guess we can leave them in the soil this year too, so lucky.

WOW! When you sped up, it is hard to keep up. But, in the beginning you said you put bio tone and then ________? I watched this several times and still can't understand what you are saying. I couldn't read what was on the bag either. Please, fill in the blank. I think you said thirdly -- compost. Thank you.
