Finally Putting Plants in the Hartley Greenhouse! Garden Answer For a matching saucer for your concrete pots, buy the spray-paint that has the 'stone look' in a similar grey and then spray the outside of the plastic saucers. It's not perfect but it's really good at not leaking (plastic) but really fools the eye as it's blends with the concrete pot. I even do this for terra cotta too, as the terra cotta saucers, not glazed, are notorious ring makers on wood lol. SO gorgeous, in LOVE with your Hartley.

Hi Laura, I ve learned from bitter experience not to put a beautiful wooden table (especially with inlay work) near a sunny window. Mine split the top layer and faded so badly within a year. Perhaps swap it to the North side? Regarding the hiding of the utility area, maybe a small antique pot cupboard (for extra storage) or an antique metal (solid not mesh) decorative fire screen attached to casters (for ease of moving) that would fit under the bench and blend with the classic look of the floor. Just a few thoughts anyway. But I m sure whatever you do in there will be magical and will change over time. That is the true gift of something so special - it can keep you occupied for years!

It looks absolutely beautiful! As you were going around the inside showing the plants, my eyes went to look at the views outside. I know Aaron wants so badly to get rid of the gorgeous boxwoods in the back garden area, but how about taking out the line of shrubs and flowers to open it up. Looking out and seeing the beautiful gate and water fountain is calming to the eyes and fits. Just a thought. I know whatever y'all do will be breathtaking. Also, have you both ever thought about a outdoor kitchen/bbq area where the vehicles are? Have a blessed day

Hi Laura,
It s great to see the Hartley coming along and that you are enjoying the space you are so deserving of.
PS: It s just my opinion, I would put the Christmas Tree with warm lights where you can see if from your house. I think that is where the antiqued table is currently. On the centre table I would do a display of pine branches, and on the PB table an arrangement of winter flowers with timer battery operated candles that flicker. It s going to be magical

What about sansevieria hedge between the table and the glass in the Hartley? maybe it is too formal though. Loved the assortment of plants that you chose! I also have watermelon pepperomia - it does not like tons of water. And to check if it needs water, you can do a taco test (gently try to fold a leaf like taco, if it feels thin and folding easily - it needs water. This begonia looks a lot like Bowerae (only veining on the inside of the leaf do not have dark color.

I think inflations is causing the current situation we already have now, the prices increases is due to the higher demand of paying out to the employees. The authorities in this country always treat us like children who cannot figure anything out for ourselves. right now venturing into multiple income streams is the best way to survive the current hardship and recession.

I love it and am so happy for you! There are lots of great saucer options on Amazon - ceramic, plastic, concrete grey, glazed white, etc etc. you can also look for ceramic baking dishes at Marshall s, the thrift & when you go out antiquing. I found some beautiful and simple au gratin baking dishes from France that I use for saucers. I ve also used Corning pie plates.

Great video as always. Everything is coming together beautifully in the Hartley. Laura, you have much more patience than I with the several delays you've encountered. But finally moving things into the Hartley makes the wait worth it. I really enjoyed your Christmas morning excitement in this video. You deserve it and more!

Good morning. Love watching your dreams come to fruition and the excitement on your face. You are definitely glowing. If I may suggest a grouping of different heights of skinny Christmas trees in the center. Maybe flocked. I m almost as anxious as you are to see the surrounding area come together. Can we fast forward?

30: 37 I flinch when I hear that monstera being called a philodendron, that is a Monstera Deliciosa and that plant is a climber so maybe give it something to climb onto. And Im curious to see how your majesty palms will do this winter, bcs I consider them as annuals. The plant you forgot the name of is Pilea Glauca

I love the tall skinny trees. That would be my pick for Christmas.
The Hartley is coming together so beautifully. Pepperomias are my favorite plants. I have an ever growing collection that I get so many compliments about. I think they were a fantastic choice for your space. I can't wait to see more!

Congratulations! Love how much joy it gives you. It looks beautiful. As far as the Christmas tree, I would put a small tree on the table. A real blue spruce, unless it takes up too much space, maybe one that could be planted out in the garden at a later time.
Can t wait to see what you decide.

The Hartley is looking so good. I don't think you need a curtain. The counter itself is a beautiful piece of furniture and a curtain would take away some of that. Just stack some pretty pots in front of the pipes. It's looking so good. Are you hanging anything in there or just sit everything?

Your Hartley is so stunning with all those beautiful plants! I have a question. When I purchase plants from a big box store, I deal with fungus gnats for months. I use yellow sticky traps and water sparingly, but it doesn t stop. They re everywhere. Ugh! What do you recommend?
