Morning all. Ooooo can't wait to see the grass grow! I struggle with finding things for part shade/part sun for zone 4 here in Gaylord, MI. We have Beautiful ferns and hostas. Begonias and impatiens do well, but I would love to find more perennials. This year we trying some rhododendrons, azaleas, some arborvitae and two tater tots. I know yesterday Mom (Susan) said to plant multiples and I surely agree, but plants are so expensive, I have to see if they will survive our winters, even though they say they will. Now my two tater tots. I don't know, they are getting some brown at the bottom and on the inside. And those were like 15 dollars a piece. We'll hope for the best and see what next year brings. Enjoy your day. xo

I m happy for you that you got your grass seeded and also that you found lights for the shed that you like. The DO look nice. The maze garden has turned out so beautifully, and may I say, I m lusting after your corn. I seldom buy it in the store because it just lacks the quality and freshness like when it comes straight from the garden. (I m spoiled - and kind of a snob - when it comes to corn, onions, tomatoes, etc. Thank you for showing the beauty and abundance on your handiwork!

Laura have you had the opportunity to visit The Country Home and Gardens of Interior Designer Bunny Williams in Connecticut? If you have not you should, if not in person at least on You tube. It is a home that she has owned a very long time. The home and gardens have evolved and it makes me think of you and what the future of your home and gardens will become.

Hey Laura it will be nice again when the grass comes out I hope soon for you, and the weeping willow, oooh I'm so in love with it, but I've already planted cuttings a few times but they always die, in I had a beautiful garden in my previous garden, I don't know how it is, but try one from the garden center, your sunflowers are so beautiful, greetings Ingrid

Good morning Laura and family! Glad I'm not the only one with struggling black eyed Susan vines. I purchased two to climb on arbors on my fence line this spring. They have struggled since I put them in the ground. I do agree with you that they would make a good groundcover, but would they, or could they, choke out surrounding plants?

Love seeing everything and so excited to see the meadow come up. Question though, with it being a rhizomous grass, how will you all keep it from encroaching on the grass pathway? We've had the absolute worst year with crabgrass here in Lexington, Kentucky this year that I'm ready to torch every inch of turf!

Aaron acting like he would use a low setting had me laughing because ANYONE who's followed you guys for a hot minute knows he LOVES a heavy seed spread! Have you considered just installing a brick border between the pathway grass & the meadow grass, like how it is by the willow & rock? I love that willow!

Hi Laura. Everything looks wonderful. Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm with us as well as the little imperfections and the things that aren t going so well. That s real life! . If you leave the pear in the back until next spring, is there concern about the fire blight spreading?

Good Morning. Can you give me some details on why you cut off the suckers? I have seen this in several of your video's but I may have missed the reason why. I have an older lilac and the suckers grew up to fill in where the tree was dead. Should I have not let them grow up?

And a partridge and a pear tree. Laura your orchard garden around the cut flower shed is magnificent I m just as excited to watch this particular type of grass seed preform. Do you know how much more of the fifteen lbs. of grass seed did Aaron end up spreading? Thanks

Everything is developing beautifully and next year it is going to look even better. The willow tree is wonderful and I can just imagine the kids playing there. Making it a fort or a house or anything they imagine. Thank you for letting me share the journey

The grass sounds amazing! The rhizomes nature makes me nervous. I've been battling bermuda grass here in wa state. It wants to take over everything. But, the fact that it can grow a little taller sounds awesome. Pathways mowed through it would be so fun.
