Shopping the Garden for FREE plants!

Today I'm shopping the garden for FREE plants! Michelle: Myrtle looks much happier in her new home. She can stand tall. We purchased a house that at one time must have been beautifully landscaped. It is now overgrown in some spots and completely bare in others. I'm having fun shopping my garden. I haven't moved many things yet but I split a bunch of hosta and iris last fall and will be doing more when the snow melts and the ground thaws a bit. I'm north of you so your weather is ahead of mine by a couple of weeks. I'm enjoying all of your videos. Thanks for making them.

I loved this and your right, gardeners are always assessing and rearranging. I started a couple new beds this year and my husband said he doesn-t mind as long as I just plant stuff and stop moving things around- lol. This was after he moved a very large miscanthus across the yard for me. I told him -but this is what gardeners do! -

I couldn't stop looking at that plant that has the long blueish purple blooms long blooms you walked past a couple times. What is that beautiful plant? I need to move some volunteer coneflowers in the next couple days. Thanks for reminding me.

Wow! It isn't common for people to dig up an move larger established plants when they are in the wrong spot! I have dug up my front garden 4 times in 15 years and it still looks horrible I won't be afraid to add some shrubs this time!

Great decision! The crape myrtle looks great in that spot. You have a great eye for garden design. Also, since it is so close to the house, the brick wall will actually provide more warmth for the crape myrtle. Great job! -

Coming to you from France, love your videos. Lots of cool houses here are painted in ocres or brick colors which show off the plants so beautifully. Ever thought of losing the icy white color on your house?

I did a lot of moving this fall. My whole garden was planted between 2019 and this year. Plants have filled in quickly so I found it necessary to relocate several shrubs. It's so much fun, like rearranging a room

I love your idea of plant shopping in your own yard! I also like your idea of moving that Kings Gold Falce Cypress where you did the second time. Looks great. Great ideas and great video. Fun!

I'm glad you showed this because gardening is a lot about shifting things to get the look we want. Often when we first put things in it may look okay but doesn't have a wow factor.

Loved everything about this video! Camera angles and video were great, and of course the garden. I move things often and love the process of -shopping- my own yard. Thanks!

Thank you so much for approving this gardening technique. I've done this for years and feeling awkward. But you are so right! Because gardening is an exploratory journey. -

What is the amazing spike like flower that's white with pink tips. I have never seen anything like it! You can see it around time stamp 7: 45 on the right-hand side.

Wow you still have so many blooming plants this late in the season! Your flower bed still look gorgeous. What time of year do you move peonies?

What type of grass is that light green stripped? I thought it was a house plant till I saw it in your garden by the crepe myrtle
