So sorry to hear of scoundrel thieves Danielle. Such a shame. Karma will catch up to those, but 1000 times over you will be blessed with your knowledge and skill set shared with all of us. . Beautiful bouquets. I agree yellow is always so cheery! One of my favorite colors. Your yard is stunning love all your blooms. As far as your $5 garden, I think you find so much satisfaction because that little seed has given back to you growth and eventually Beautiful color. I am elated I have planted perennials every year to our very high ph acidic soil & they come back. That is astounding and pure joy in my eyes of a win! Thanks for sharing Danielle. I am sure your neighbors loved your bouquets.

I LOVE your garden tours! I can-t believe people steal from you! That-s so awful! You are such a sweetie. I would love to have Amish neighbors. They are good people and how great to be able to buy all your produce and eggs from them. I love growing plants from seed too! It-s just so rewarding to see the seeds germinate and then grow into a beautiful plant. I just planted some Queen zinnias and Double click cosmos. Your yellow tulips are so lovely! I would have a hard time picking all those flowers and selling them. Can-t wait to see your next video!

When my sister and I were little, we would make a cone out of construction paper and fill it with violets for May Day. We then would leave one on our neighbor-s porch, ring the doorbell and run. The running part was fun because we wanted to get away before the person got to the door so the bouquet would be a surprise. I had completely forgotten about that memory until I saw your video. Our Mom told us about the tradition-she did it when she was little girl too.

Oh no! I can-t believe people are stealing your flowers. You are so even keeled about it but I bet I would be upset! Definitely agree about direct seeding! 90% of my beds including perennials and biennials are direct sown (and now I am winter sowing as well, which is really working out well for perennials started from seed. I agree that those 100% direct seeded beds have a magic to them that other beds don-t quite have!

You are a very beautiful person-inside and out. Thank you for sharing your garden and all the GOOD works that you do. I am inspired to leave bouquets along with my grown vegetables for our town -Veggie care-. Gardeners here donate veggies and volunteers bring them to folks in need. Flowers say, - we care- and perhaps they will send a little joy to our older folks.

That's a shame about your stand. There is always one or two that ruin it for everyone. Your gardens look beautiful. Maybe and this is just a thought you could hire a teen to sit by your stand for a few hours say during your normal busy time or Just put out fliers to start a CSA maybe some would be interested in that? Just an idea.

Likely still a ruby throated hummer-the light does make them look black or show off their green, just depends. Love them. I-m in southern Ohio. One got my attention to put the feeder out and was actually still there, as if he was patiently waiting for me. I would love to see more varieties, but it appears unlikely.

Your garden is so lovely! Those yellow tulips were gorgeous! Love May Day baskets! We used to do that as a kid. Make basket cones out of construction paper and a pipe cleaner for the handle. Pop popcorn and other candy corn and whatever and put it on the door knob, ring the bell and leave. Brings back many great memories!

I'm right with you with my seed started garden! We were on such a tight budget right after we moved to our house. And its so fun to see what some creativity and patience produced. lol, even made a point to -rescue- some out of seaon to plants at the garden center. There is a special kind of joy/pride.

Your $5 garden should be interesting. Can-t wait to see how it grows! Also, I was wondering if your hummingbird was a hummingbird moth because of the size and coloring. They are just as fun and beautiful as hummingbirds. Mine are attracted to my cleome, jasmine, and firecracker plant.

Lovely tour, and I agree it is indeed special to grow from seed, and be there through the whole development of the plant. Hey. how about call your driveway garden The Parkway Garden-- since you say it feels like a park. So it's a fun twist on previously calling it the driveway garden.

Watch those solar fountains closely they empty the water out because they float near the edge of the bowl and the pump will burn-out quickly without water. I stabled my with rocks, but unless the bowl is wide it won't take long before it's empty.

I talk to my seedlings like they are actual people. By the time they are out in the garden we not only have a connection, we-ve set up a group chat, formed a book club and promised to be in each other-s weddings. It-s not just you!

Beautiful tulips! You have inspired me to grow more flowers from seed. I-m so sorry you are dealing with theft in your flower stand, that-s sad. What about putting a camera up and a sign to let people know they are being watched?

Danielle I can totally relate to loving growing things completely from seed. There is something about seeing a teeny little seed turn into something that is so gorgeous! It was like a little miracle! What could be more exciting!

Are your neighbors who have stands having theft also?
Have you considered sitting at the stand and manning the sales?
Have you dry stored irises? Can they be held in a refrigerator? Thank you

The hummingbird may have been an immature male ruby throated hummingbird. The belly is black, so you may have seen it from a front view? Thanks for the flower content.

Danielle, I love your sweet spirit and how the smaller things (like your $5 garden) still bring you joy. It really is the small things in life that warms our heart!
