I always find your videos so informative and helpful! I did force tulips this year, but did it in gallon containers and I like your approach better. I have about 6 gallon containers that the tulips are all spent and finished. What do I do with the bulbs now? Do I throw them away or is there a way to let the bulbs stay in these containers and if so, how long? Could I pull up the bulbs and store them some way so that I could use them again to do this next year? Side note: My tulips, even though I planted them 6 inches deep in the gallon containers, got to be 20 inches tall - I had to stake them! I had different varieties and they all got so tall.

I tried putting them in the planter and covered the planter to keep moisture out but the bulbs still rotted. I probably should have taken them off the porch where they were covered with snow and tried keeping them in the shed. I like this method much better though and will try it next year. The potted tulips will still have to go outside because of the cats but we'll see what happens. Thank you Danielle!

Question. what do you do with forced bulbs after they bloom? If you leave them outside in the pot and let the foliage die back and plant them in the ground, will they come back and bloom the next year? Or is forcing a one time thing and then the bulbs are discarded? Thanks!

Are vegetables in the refrigerator ok when trying to chill the bulbs? I have wanted to try this for years. Your videos are wonderful and so helpful. I've learned a lot from you and I have been gardening for years. There's always something to learn.

This is really helpful. I-ve tried to pot them up and overwinter them in the unheated garage but they usually just rot - too cold in Nebraska! I have an old dorm refrigerator from my kids- college days so I can dedicate it to bulbs this fall.

I found some unplanted bulbs that I put in shallow glass vases to force One already bloomed! the others at 4 weeks have lots of leaf growth, even if they don't bloom seeing the leaf growth is a sign of Spring to come!

Great idea! Especially since I have challenges growing them outside because of deer and rabbit pressure (never see blooms-. Can you save these bulbs for another round of blooming?

Excellent information! Are you able to force bulbs again if after blooming you let the foliage naturally die? If so, do you just repeat the initial process? Have a great tuesday!

I-m definitely going to try this next year! We have too many deer and squirrels for me to consider planting tulips outdoors. What a perfect option. Thank you for sharing!

my bulbs almost all failed this year. so sad. they are all mushy in small spots outside and has experienced a heavy squirrel pressure this winter.

I've never tried forcing spring-flowering bulbs to bloom indoors, but after watching this, I think I'll give it a shot this fall! Thanks, Danielle!

Great information. Especially nice to have blooms during the time nothing is flowering in the garden.
