Today I'm creating the hydrangea annex and planting tulips in trenches for cur flowers. Cheryl: Thanks for your video. Always very helpful. I'm wondering in spring when it comes time to pull the tulips (bulb and all) how will you do it and not disturb the daffodil bulbs? Won't the soil be compacted from the winter months and a garden fork need to be used to loosen the soil a bit which will also loosen the daffodils? I'm also wondering if you will replant tulips in that area the following fall. If so, would you just redo the entire space lifting the daffodil bulbs and replanting them again with new tulips? Thanks!

I ve heard several people say they treat their tulips as annuals but I don t understand why. I don t have many but they just bloom, stay in the ground until spring. They always come up again. Is it because I m in zone 7a?

Hi Danielle. I love how you take your time to think about your garden. I ve learnt from you to be a bit more patient with my ideas. To just wait a while before jumping into a huge project that may overwhelm me.

Do you have a squirrel issue at all? I have to cover mine with chicken wire, well at least I do, cause I see them all over my property and don't want to take any chances,

What size tulip bulbs make the best flowers? It seems the bulbs one finds in box stores are too little to make a nice spring display.
