Log Cabin Build: You Can Do This Too

Log Cabin Build: You Can Do This Too

video description

Rating: 4.5; Vote: 2
I install the upper course of logs on the walls of the log cabin and 6x6 hemlock timbers to hold the upper floor. The log cabin is taking shape as I complete one log gable end and start the second one. Autumn is setting in, the trees are turning and the animals are on the move with animal tracks all over the trail and deer, sandhill cranes and geese in the fields. In the second half, I talk about my physical and mental limitations and why you too can build a log cabin or do others things beyond your self imposed limitations. I prepare prime rib and potatoes for dinner on the campfire, sleep on the floor of the log cabin and get up early to go after geese for the freezer

I have to say, I'm shocked, humbled and overwhelmed by all of your supportive comments and stories of your own lives. I'm truly thankful to virtually meet such an amazing group of new friends here on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook.
It's intimidating to open up and start to get more personal with people I've, for the most part, never met. Thank you for being so respectful, now and hopefully, in the future. :. I plan to get much more personal and tell you more about my difficulties, failures and successes and I expect some criticism- I'm ok with that so please don't hold back.
My wife says, rant is not the right word for my talks at the end of my videos. Any suggestions on what I should call them?

you may not be a carpenter - but, you surely know common sense and have a practical knack for knowing how to do things. frankly, a carpenter might likely fail at this endeavor because it may appear that a person would have to live a lifetime of skills in order to build a log cabin. I've researched this topic for over 2 years - I've seen a lot and learned a lot - your undertaking is educational (everyone has something to add to the learning of others); entertaining; balanced and very enjoyable to watch and follow. Seriously. Thanks very much for producing all this and sharing it with us - I know others have commented how important it is to them as well - I speak for more than just myself.

I really appreciate you. Your humble and kind, and you've inspired me. Between my wife and I, we graduated college with over 120k in student loan debt. With a lot of hard work and dedication we now owe 60k and are still chipping away at it. Im 34 now, working in the corporate world which I hate. Our goal is to pay these loans off in the next 18 months and then focus on paying our house off (60k remaining. My goal is to be debt free and I'll look very much forward to doing what you are doing. In the meantime, Ill be practicing my cabin building skills in the backyard. Again, thank u sir. You are inspiring

I enjoyed your commentary Shawn about your shyness but turning it around into success. I too was shy in school and until I was 40 and got the courage to go to nursing school which was my dream. I did extremely well in college and had a 30 year career in nursing. Yes you can do anything you set your mind to. I had even failed 7th grade in junior high. How humiliating. It was hard to overcome. God bless you. You inspire me at 73 to keep on trying to find happiness.

Note
Almost see all the videos, but it appears that the most difficult penalty is the arc of drilling in the tree stump for fastening with the other stump in a smooth and smooth manner, which makes it a tight lock.
This can be bypassed with scissors with a hard-haul hydraulic press that secures to your desired position and a moving measuring ruler.

Sean, I'm about the same age as you - a couple years younger. Your story is inspiring. I'm going back to watch all your older videos as I work from home now. Keep the videos going! I love the northern outdoors. I want to move back north someday. In Texas right now.

Hello, for someone who has never worked with wood I find that you have the qualities of a very good carpenter. I watch all your videos every day from France and you always amaze me. Well done, go through with your ideas, you are right
