I'm a city boy and know that I'll never live in a cabin in Ontario or anywhere else for that matter. I for much of my life made Kitchen countertops made from solid surface materials also Kitchen sinks in fact nowadays the shapes, angles, and designs are cut by computer-aided saws. I could no more do and use the hand tools that you do and the copper backsplash, well your amazing. I watch you all the time. I hope you get that lovely wife some running water, you would have to go pretty deep to get it up on that hill I think. you have to get a drain on that sink and not into a bucket.

What a great spot for Callie to have. Will you be storing her food inside of that box her bed is on? Have you tried making your own hinges out of wood yet? I still have not mastered that but I'm almost done with two small hinges for a tea box I am making for a friend of mine. A lot of trial and error. I have been practicing with pine until I get it right. Then I'll use the black walnut she chose for the box to make the hinges with. Hardwoods are too expensive to practice with.

Hello Shawn - 32 seconds into this video it shows several of your hand tools hanging on the cabin wall. One is a very small axe/hatchet, what brand and size is that? Been looking for one and I don't think I have found one that small. If you are any viewers can help, that would be awesome. Keep up the GREAT work!

Being productive is what I strive for. Working by the square foot my whole adult life. Now it's so ingrained in me i find myself doing everything by the square foot. Be it cutting wood doing dishes, making a pie. Haven't done dishes in a while. I enjoy your productivity. Way to go Shawn.

I love your videos, I'm addicted. Can you tell me what the name of the bench is you created to plane logs? The one on your front porch with the foot pedal. Thank you for your inspiration and determination to follow your dream and do it with integrity.

That bench you made under the window, I guessed you were going to make a lid for it so you could use it for storage. A lot of cubic inches in that thing. But no! You just nailed the boards down on top. No way to get into the interior space. Odd.

It's so interesting watching you build. You are an expert woodworker. You never make a mistake. It must be a great satisfaction to accomplish all of the various projects. Somehow it makes me feel that I've done something, too.
