Quantum-Entanglement
Yes, Saw mill, Some good chain saws, a small tractor to move lumber logs cut down. A good pile of seasoned sticks need to be done now! a 2 year old pile is very good to use, also raise the base of the Cabin at least 24 inches. Set it on the base rock, do not get rid of nails, or screwed, but get a drill to screw them, Make it easy and comfortable for you to do the task of building. Make a portable sled for the winter out of good lumber with it to be for scouting too. Like a portable tent for you to stay the night. Have a tool shed always outside the Home with a good lock. Make it easy to take a showing in the winter, It is possible. The Sauna you want to build is great idea as a form of bath, and very healthy. You can make a refrigerator that is walkable in the frost point and it will keep food better that what you have now. There are coolers that run on Ammonia and use very little power as it is the form used in mobil homes, all you need to do is heat the Ammonia and you are cooling without fans or electric. look into that one please.
last is install a off-grid solar panel system that is made for snow. You can run it with on the roof, or on a piece of site by the cabin. First calculate your total consumption daily and then see te kilowatts you need. I have a portable battery solar generator 2000 watts for the night. You might need at least a 12kw system, you will reduce gasses, and burn less logs for light,
Peace, Love, Lazro

You commented a video or two ago that you were 48 with a birthday coming this spring. So lets say 49. Doesn't matter. This is for anyone under 50. Pay attention.
First:
There is a switch that gets thrown as you pass 50. I have confirmed this fact with siblings and friends and random ramblings with strangers. It can be a big switch or a little switch or even postponed a few years, but coming soon that switch will be thrown and you will come to realize that the best physical years are behind you. You realize that you will never, no matter how hard you try, attain that level again. Things start to go wrong. Physically and mentally. I'm 57 and I would bet I have lost 15 points on the brain scale since turning 50. It's scary. You can see the end of your life coming as if a haze in the distance. Oh, now I see it. Well that sucks!
Second: How the hell did this comment end up here?
What I meant to say was; build a single story, you'll thank me later.
Cheers from B. C.

My former landlord in The Yukon build his own log house years back. It is hexagonal shaped and from one side to the opposite is about 20/25 m. Very spatious to say the least but nevertheless cosy. He has a huge fireplace (stove/heating system) in the centre. On one side a kitchen, on another a (big) dining table, a TV-corner and a relax corner. Lots of windows so much sunlight (therefore free energy) in the winter. Also a deck all around (house stands about 2m above ground. I think I still might have some photo's of it. Not suggesting you should built this big but you can built any size you want/need. Just trying to throw some ideas to you.

If you like the pristine surroundings as much as you say you do, letting a slew of people come in to enjoy what you enjoy, go ahead and make a B and B business. We had an old farmhouse way upNorth in Canada, with pond woods everything off the grid and let people come to enjoy our paradise. What a mess! We had to stop it very fast, if we wanted to keep our sanity. We cleaned up for a long time, the pond looked bad, the woods were full of trash. Nobody wanted to clean up, after all, they came up here to enjoy themselves. So, go ahead and plan for people to come and enjoy your wonderful place(Just something for you to think about it)

I havent seen this addressed yet, but Ive also not yet watched all your videos. Theres a building that looks like an outhouse, but I cant imagine anyone walking to an outhouse in such cold weather. Do you have a composting toilet in your cabin or what? Please tell me your wife doesnt have to walk to an outhouse in the middle of the night if she has to pee.

Saw that coming! ;) so jealous, but in a good way. Just thankful that you take the time to share the experience. I learn something from every upload, and it makes me more determined to do the same. I agree 100% with the drive to keep it as organic as possible, and I know exactly what you mean. Wish I could help, but you dont need any!

I would be saying NO to all those people wanting to come visit. What's the point of living way out there if you're going to be constantly bombarded by visitors? You said a few times on various videos freedom is extremely important to you, visitors will infringe on your freedom pretty darn fast. Just sayin.

Hi Shawn, I think you will have a good idea of how to make wooden hinges and door furniture, but if you need any ideas Matthias
Wandel did a video of their cottages where he shows his dad's hinges and other things and all the items his dad made were beautiful and organic.

Isn't the whole point of a log cabin that it's supposed to be small/cozy? Are you looking to build a mansion out in the woods? Expand on what you have, which is perfect as is, anyway. And easier to heat than a bigger space. Take a break and enjoy what you have, man.
