Watching the beauty of your surroundings, the quiet and peacefulness, the calmness, I certainly would have rethought my life. With the first glimpse of such a wonderful way of living life, I would certainly have left city life behind.

Well done, Shawn. My mouth was watering over those pancakes! I absolutely love of your lifestyle and can appreciate your desire to be out there. With a family who mostly does not share my passion for the wilderness, I can only get out to remote areas maybe one or two weeks a year. By the way, what kind of knife were you using near the beginning of this video? It looks very similar to the L. T. Wright GNS Scandi that I carry.

As little kids, we only had wood stoves in our house. We learned quickly how to chop & stack wood, start, feed, maintain and bank the fires. Lots of hard work preparing for winter. I do appreciate all I learned (I didnt at the time. We also lived off our garden, raised meat and we hunted. My dad and brothers did most of the hunting. Your videos certainly have brought back a lot of memories. Thank you.

Tapped trees, hung buckets, and all! Saying _wow_ just doesn't capture the emotion! Do you have any problems with the local wildlife investigating while you render the syrup, or cook?
