When I tan hides to be the softest, i break the membrane so no stiffness occurs. Winter pelt raccoon coat is quite warm. Hair on or off decides if i do both sides. To get to the benefits Id like is two pronged. In their eating the fat, do the chickadees break the inner membrane, as to save work later in processing? And secondly, ive seen deer under the flight path of an international airport and next to six lanes highways. They get used to the noise. But let one twig snap wrong. If the skins are situated near the structure and the birds are used to humans activity, then there is one less -watchdog - to alert the deer.

i was told a few years ago that in a untouched hard maple hardwood bush it will grow a half inch ish, every 10 years, and that a properly managed, or forested bush, can grow 2 inches every ten years! when i was logging i found cedar was only rotten in low lying areas, wet or swampy areas. usually the only cedar you can find is what loggers in the past didnt take. cause it was in a low area and good chance it was rotten. our local mill was saying he never bought any decent local cedar in years. said most of the good stuff is comming down from Manitoulin Island.

Looks great! two ideas as I am building a similar project. As I work alone alot I bought a passlode nail gun and it has made a huge difference in time and convenience. And my vote for insulation is for spray cellulose. a little glue in the hopper and it sticks wonderfully as you spray, seals completly, low cost, uses recycled paper, contains boric acid as pest repellant. Thanks for sharing and best of luck

Looks great! two ideas as I am building a similar project. As I work alone alot I bought a passlode nail gun and it has made a huge difference in time and convenience. i have stumbled across many deer that i believe had been shot that just sat there and rotted, maybe a possum ate its butt a little or something, but almost everything just sat there and rotted. im sure it would be dependant on where you live what the result would be, but at least in my area, unless you consider composting corpses in the forest as not a waste, then it is a total waste.

I was always told that throwing bread out for birds in the winter was not particularly good for them, because of the lack of available water. That's why I've never thrown out bread for birds in the winter. But I do go through 40 kg of bird seed and a lot of suet.

Who are your friends? This build should have taken a month at best. You had a mill on site. Which should have made it less than a month. I've seen builds in less with guys with just chain saw build faster.

I'm not a carpenter. Have no plans on building anything any time soon. This Cabin series has got to be the funnest thing I've ever followed. Really enjoy the appreciation of nature.
