One Hour Battle with a Giant Mako Shark - 4K

I was invited to go saltwater fishing with my buddies Jarred and Scott in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of St. Petersburg, Florida. The overall goal was to go fishing for snappers. After several hours of fishing, a giant school of blackfin tuna schooled up at our boat. The tuna fishing was off the charts with non-stop bites. While I was fighting my second tuna of the day, Chill noticed a massive dorsal fin coming towards the boat, it was a giant mako shark I quickly got the shark rod ready and tossed our a blackfin tuna for bait. It didn't take long for that mako shark to find my tuna. After swallowing the tuna, the mako shark took off, peeling hundreds of yards of line off my reel. The shark then made an enormous jump and everybody on the boat went crazy, screaming and hollering. This was my first ever mako shark experience while fishing offshore. This is one the rarest species of sharks to catch in Florida.

Fishing question, i'm still learning about big game fishing but want to get more into it, i was just wondering. Since you catch and release the sharks, (which i applaud and want to do) i don't understand in the video how do you tell when you win the fight if you dont bring it on board? like how do you know when the fight is won when shark fishing catch and release style? Is it when it just stops pulling and comes up to the boat and chills or what? Thanks love your videos.

He took that broken finger like a manIt would be nice to see you guys wear a flotation device like when your wearing the fighting harness when there's a giant hammer head or with that MAKO even your friend that got his finger broken what if he got pulled over then underwater seeing that or even hearing about that would keep me from traveling there to get my fishing fix on. Just wear your inflatable vest when you target another sea monster or one of those submarine shark

The only time I had ever hooked into a Mako (a good sized one at that) was at the exact same moment the boat Capt. hooked a monster Cobia that was trailing the shark. I had to make a choice between the Mako or Cobia cause the Shark was pretty much going where ever it wanted, fear it would entangle the Cobia I was forced to cut the line. At least the Capt. landed the Cobia which made for some good eating for a while.

bull sharks are one thing, but makos are an entirely different ball game pound for pound no other shark or grouper (except the great white) comes even close in sheer power to a mako, if u locked up on one just like you did the bulls you would either get ripped in the water in seconds or your line would pop as soon as it knew what was up. They are no joke

Ill never watch another one of your videos You try to hard an its actually getting other people hurt. Your awful at catch and release and you tell people to do stuff they shouldnt when handling fish I know Im not the first to tell you

Catch and release is gay. Why hurt an animal for nothing. You need to take after your friend and realise your friend who broke his finger is more important.

Why are you guy wraping the line around your hand like that? Omg everytime i see yous wrap the line around your hands i just see cuts, broken bones etc
