You should come to Perth Australia in summer to jig for our Samson fish, a relative of the amberjacks and a VERY similar fish in both looks habitat and fight. Our fish don't grow as big but seem to be common at bigger sizes than amberjacks with most during season between 20-40kgs (45-90lbs) and many 100lb plus fish caught ever season as well, every year they school in the thousands over wrecks to breed Jusy like amberjacks, the wrecks and barges out from rottnest are the best and it attracts huge crowds similar to amberjacks, I rekon come give it a shot bro, cheers

Lol I wish I was fishing in that weather. I'm a mate on a charter boat out of Delaware and we've been tog fishing in max 30 degrees. The other day it was a high of 17 degrees we were fishing and we had to put our crabs we were using as bait in the ice box because it was warmer in the ice box than it was outside. Boat was covered in ice. If I could show you a picture of the rods from running back to the dock I would. Great video

If u like them why not try get the other 2 big seriola species related to the amber, the yellow tail kingfish from newzealand (not the tiny Californian yellow tail, and the Samson fish which looks very similar to an amberjack fromsouthwestern Australia. The Samson fish are almost the same they congregate around wrecks as well etc there basiclly the Australian version and are common to 80+lbs. A big kingfish however eclipses both

Hey BlacktipH, me and my friend are really big fans of yours we always watch your videos to try and learn more and more about our waters. He wanted to go down to your meet and greet, but he was at school at the time. It would be really great if we could go on a trip with you I don't know if I have to pay but I would try to get money together. We have our own rods and everything we'd love to learn and we already got our sea legs

Don't get the ganging up on spots. To me fishing is my relaxation. Commercial fishers have a gazillion numbers to ping. Frankly seldom do I fish on the weekends. This video is just another example of why. Like the epic sardine battle

The monster AJs are out at the middle grounds, on the big wrecks in 200 ft or more. Caught a 115-120 lb one there last year, would have been a state record in that line class if I'd bothered to keep it or record the dimensions.
