Part of my family settled 'Cortez' nearby. as a kid and teen you hated going on the boat some weekend nights and catching 8K lbs of fish and selling then. my Uncle taught me to toss a Castnet at 8 yrs old. Once i found out i could catch and sell 'live bait' to tourist i was 'hooked'. now i toss a 12' regularly. i would give Little for those memories, as i've taught my Son to toss one at 8 yrs. old also. Ohhh, the stories i have = ) 'Keep on Katchin D and B'

I fish off my pier at night (FL panhandle) under a light and we have probably 95% speckled trout / 5% redfish seems to be about the ratio. South florida has a much bigger variety of fish than we do in northern florida

Hey guys, nail down everything and leave town, as you do not want to go through a cat 4 storm. Had one in my town, Rockport, Texas, one year and 5 days ago. We still show the effects of it. Just be safe.

You were right in my backyard, I live just two blocks from Gulfport Marina where you launched. I recognized so much, Bunces Pass and the flats and spoil islands just off of Ft Desoto park!
