FIGHTING GIANT FISH (PART 1) - Bluegabe

FIGHTING GIANT FISH (PART 1) - Bluegabe German: Many reasons why it was called Jewfish. 1) from its clean taste comparable to kosher food to the Jamaican Jewish community. 2) It was derived from the name giupesce which means bottom fish in Italian. 3) It was originally called Jawfish because of its large mouth which then evolved to Jewfish because of southern accents. 4) And finally a less pleasant theory, it was considered a trash fish in the 1800-s and fit only for a Jews. With that said, I-m 41, born and raised in Miami, and like you Gabe I still call it Jewfish out of habit but not because of the negative connotations it has. Love your work Blue, keep it up!

I respect you more for the fact that you called them what they are Jewfish and also agree 110% we used to have a thriving ecosystem. They have taken almost everything even have had friends that commercial lobster dive and almost died from large jewfish trying to pull them down with a bag full of bugs. More then one has been bang sticked and my dad got some the big jewfish get very fatty and chewy from there tendons.

-Bluegabe yes, we don't mind that you guys aren't successful every time. That's real life and that's what I like to see. It shows us how authnetic you guys are and that you don't just post the good stuff; you post the real stuff. Thanks for keeping it real and showing the challenging parts of fishing. Keep up the good work!

Your buddy was right. it's all good. One thing you might want to do it to keep the length of your videos down to about 12 minutes each. If you have more footage that you didn't use, just put it in another video. I hope you're able to make some money from these, you have great content!

When I was a little girl, one of our ranch hands called my dad to come see the fish, his son had caught off of an oil base in the gulf. I went along and saw this enormous fish that filled a truck bed and hung over the tailgate. They called it a Jewfish.

I-m with you Gabe, I-ve watched the reefs slowly depopulate since Jewfish, I mean Goliath Grouper became protected. Makes no sense not to open the spear season for a few days or sell a ticket to spear one. You can kill a Tarpon if you want, why not a GG?
reply

Thanks for your take on the infestation of goliath grouper! And most of your viewers are fishermen also after buying all the bait all the gas everything be right but don't catch any fish it happens bro! Keep up the good work bluegabe

Keep it reel, Gabe! U r not the first to go home empty handed. For reference on the Goliath-s, they are in the Oscar family (yep, the same oscars that eat every other fish in your aquarium. Keep up the good effort,

But they're -endangered -. Have no natural predators when full grown and consume everything on the reefs. Why not protect one species and let the rest be destroyed. Its past time to open a tagged harvesting season.

Yep. No mistakes made by subscribing. Great footage it's called fishing not catching. Sometimes we get defeated and learn for the next trip keep after it. Real life played out. Keep it coming and thank you
