WILD - JAVELINA - Catch and Cook ( COLLARD PECCARY ) hunt: LAME. It's not unethical as long as the animal dies a quick death, but why not just go to the grocery store if you're going to -hunt- like this. I've got a Jave tag for late February. I've got 9 scouting trips in on the area I'm going to hunt. I know there's a herd there. I know where they eat. I know where they sleep. I know I'm going to get one because I've put the work in and it will be much, much, much more satisfying then what you did in this video. Please, unless you're starving, learn to be an decent hunter and try actual hunting, rather than shooting fish in a barrel.

One thing i've learned hunting in the US is that the general public does not like ventuing out into the natural world. Everytime I hunt a new animal, someone has to say -My (uncle, cousin, friend, etc) says you cant eat that! I've heard it about aoudad, wild pig, antelope, diver ducks, geese, rabbit, squirrel. I enjoyed each and every one. I think most folks are just so used to fat cornfed beef and refuse to try anything new.

Ive hunted and eaten javelina meat, here in the Great State of Texas, and Im here to tell you that if you it is Delicious. Providing you kill, prep and cook it properly from field to table. Just as good as anything you buy at the grocerystore if not better. Anyways, yal give it a try someday, I promise you you wont be dissapointed. plus its fun hunting them. Theyre just bigger n meaner in Texas, yal. Happy hunting. And eating.

Nice Job on the braise. In AZ we grind and make chorizo. it's damn awesome
They are nasty, rowdy little effers. Ain't no shame them chasin your ass. I got up on em one time while hunting something else and 1 charged like it was nothing. Tapped that ass with some -friendly- buck shot.
They are good as long as taken care during cleaning. Hit those scent glands and it's game over.

Being born and raised in far West Texas (El Paso) and running around the desert working as a Pipeline Surveyor, I'm surprised at the fact that y'all are hunting wearing Bermuda shorts and flip flops. I figured that all the Goatheads would be a big hint! Ever stepped on a Mesquite thorn hidden in the dirt? I have! Right up through the sole of my boot. Nice little Javelina, by the way!

Javelinas are not feral hogs, and they are not related to any rodent. Javelinas belong to the order Artiodactyla, and all rodents belong to the order Rodentia. Also, within the order Artiodactyla is the suborder Suiformes which contains three separate families: Hippopotamidae (hippopotamuses, Tayassuidae (peccaries, and Suidae (pigs.

People over react on eating javelina because they don't cook it right. The best way I've done it here in Arizona with my family is pit it for 8 hrs in lots of onions and garlic. meat shreds offs easily and they make good burritos out of it--. I just harvested one few weeks ago and I made smoke summer sausage out of it. dam its good

Being a native Texan I'll admit to some anti-Florida prejudices but they're really nothing more than harmless rivalry sorts of things. However, heading into the shit like it's casual Friday would have got me a whippin' back in the day. I'm glad nobody got hurt and envy the fun you seemed to be having. Peace.

Growing up in South Texas, the only good thing about Javalinas, were that they were my Alma Mater. Texas A&I Javalinas. That university doesn-t exist anymore. Texas A&M took it over. Wouldn-t dream of eating one of those stinking little varmints. Lol. They do make good pets, if you catch them small enough.

I've been going down the -Alternate History- rabbit hole online and several post about -What if North American Indians mass domesticated the Peccary? - - no idea what a Peccary was, looked it up on Wiki, then watched this video.
