Adapting to the conditions and making the most of some stunning weather I spent the day inshore fishing for Mackerel, Bass and Pollack on lures and then anchored up to see what else I could find

Great video John, but nothing new in that! -- Lovely Pollock & Bass, and some pretty Rays too. Every time you bring a Dogfish onboard makes me think of Mark WIlliams and his -Doggy in the boat- saying - perhaps you ought to borrow it! New boat seems to be going well though you confirmed what I expected - a bit more expensive to run. What's your take on the Mackerel this summer - still a bit scarce or are you finding plenty? Still very few being caught from the shore around my way (-Britain's Ocean City-) Hope the family are good - stay safe & well. --

Well done John, some nice small eyed ray bass & pollack there, not to mention that decent scad, shame about the doggies but at least they put a (slight) bend in your rod! Awesome footage of those common dolphins in the last video plus the message about anglers being guardians of our oceans & waterways rings true with me (at least) I've lost count of the amount of rubbish that I've tidied, mostly not angling related from waterways & wildlife that I've helped over the years, simply because we love to be in these places & don't want the natural world ruined!

Was out fishing for a few hours down Mylor Harbour a couple of years ago with my lad. Nothing but Scad being caught and they all went back. All of a sudden my lads rod bent double and he pulled out a huge Scad. Never weighed it just went back. After describing it to a neighbour who fishes, he recons it would have been only a few ounces away from the shore record. The record is just over 3 pound, he must have been there or thereabouts with his catch. We will never know!

Hi mate! I live part time down in Restronguet Creek and am a hugely keen fisherman although I have never quite cracked the sea fishing from the boat down and around the Carrick Roads. Do you do a charter every now and then? I'd love to meet you and head out fishing to learn a little bit so I can get in on the action. Looking forward to hearing from you. Cheers

Hi John,
Exactly the sort of location I fished with my nephew recently, like a sandy gulley 5m lower than the rocky area around it. Had huss, spiders, gurnard, and yes the other species too but sadly no ray - yet! Can I ask where you got your bait/filleting table or did you make it?
They all seem overpriced to me.
Cheers Jon

Oh how I wish I had a boat! However, today I went out to the pier near me (North Pudget Sound, Washington) and caught about a 3lb Starry Flounder. It made some good Fish & Chips for dinner!
Love your videos and the knowledge you bestow on us!

Hello, I'm from Oklahoma. I just came across your videos a couple of weeks ago and just love how you can name everything you pick up on the beach. We don't have oceans around here but so it's kinda like I'm there. Thank you and great videos

Another great video, glad that you didn't blank with the dogfish, it wouldn't be right without catching a few! Have you taken the rear seats out? Noted all the petrol tanks, that's the price you pay for that lovely big engine you need them.

If I had to guess we're in an apogean spring tide phase, where the full moon is smaller in the sky but also behind the earth causing smaller tidal differences. Another fantastic video John, thanks as always for your effort!
